A man has suffered serious chest injuries after being attacked by a deer in NSW.
A man has undergone surgery after being gored in the chest by a feral deer in the Royal National Park south of Sydney.
The stag attacked the man, puncturing his chest wall with an antler, on Friday afternoon, the Illawarra Mercury reports. The man also reportedly suffered a wound to his stomach.
A NSW Ambulance helicopter airlifted the wounded man from remote Bulgo Beach and he later underwent surgery in hospital where he is currently recovering, Network Seven reports.
The 57-year-old victim was trying to scare wild stags away from hassling his tame deer when the attack occurred near his home at Otford, according to media reports.

The Illawarra Mercury reports that feral deer are an ongoing problem in the area and that Wollongong City Council has even declared them a "priority pest".
The attack follows a similar incident last year when a 61-year old man was gored by a bull near Lithgow.
