Stylish, yet more functional than ever.

Fitness trackers are nothing new -- you'll often see folk getting around with a band around their wrist, made of rubber or plastic, which helps track their steps, monitor their heart rate and dish up a whole host of other fitness stats.

However, many fitness trackers, while becoming more discreet, still don't look all that stylish. Plus, you'll find that many people still want to wear a traditional watch, which means they're wearing two devices, which can look kinda awkward.

Sure, Apple released the iWatch, which was pretty revolutionary. And now, thankfully, more brands are jumping on the fitness bandwagon and creating classic looking timepieces which also offer the added benefit of tracking your vitals.

Diesel Sam Black And Silver Tone Leather Hybrid Smartwatch, $379

Tracks fitness and activity and the sleep tracker measures light, rest and awake time. The Bluetooth connectivity syncs with an app to display all your info, and the link function lets you play or pause music, hit next or go back to the track, snap a photo or ring your phone. It boasts a battery life of up to six months, depending on usage.

Emporio Armani EA Connected Watch, $395

Emporio Armani makes its introduction, too, into wearables. The hybrid smartwatch is compatible with both Apple and Android smartphones. Wirelessly syncing to your mobile device, it automatically converts time zone and date as you travel. It also tracks and monitors sleep and activity, allows you to set up subtle filtered notifications, and connects to your smartphone's music to start, stop, skip, or go back with the press of a button. Its coin cell battery also means the watch never needs charging.

Fossil Women's Q Gazer Stainless Silver Smart watch, $298

The Fossil Q Gazer blends analog design with smart connectivity. You'll be notified when you accomplish daily fitness goals when the hour, minute and sub-eye hands spin or the watch case vibrates. Set an alarm, compare time in multiple time zones and track everything from steps to calories to sleep. Press the bottom pusher to take a photo, control music or find your phone with the help of the Fossil Q App. So clever.

Fossil Women's Q Tailor Rose Gold Smart watch, $270

All the bells and whistles of the above time piece, just with a totally different look. Rose gold has been hugely popular in the world of jewellery and accessories and with this style you can customise the look with interchangeable straps.

Kate Spade New York Metro Connected Watch, $389

The coveted accessories designer Kate Spade is in on the act, too. Linking automatically to the Kate Spade New York Connected app, this watch allows you to track your steps and sleep and also allows you to set personal goals to help keep you on point. This watch also never needs charging so that you don't have to fuss about with batteries.

Michael Kors Access Slim Runway Connected Watch, $399

The classic analog watch gets a nice tech twist with this watch from Michael Kors. In fact, the brand offers quite a large range in the tracker category for both men and women so check out the other styles. All styles feature a built-in activity monitoring feature, including steps taken and calories burned. Living in one place but have business in another? The timepiece lets you choose your two most frequented time zones and pick between them when you push a button.

Misfit Ray Leather Band Fitness Tracker, $189

Don't want a watch? This tracker looks like a bangle. Super lightweight and swim-proof, this tracker will help you count your steps, calories and distance traveled, with handy alerts that will let you know when you've reached your goals.
