A British man enlisted the help of a 17-year-old filmmaker to create an unforgettable – or should we say awesome – Lego marriage proposal.

On 6 August Ben Anderson, of Worcester United Kingdom, took his girlfriend Kirsten Dally to the Electric Cinema in Birmingham.  Before their date-night film however, there was a surprise – and very special – trailer.

Anderson worked with 17-year-old Morgan Spence, a stop-motion filmmaker, to recreate some of the special moments from his relationship with Dally – including their first kiss in the rain and their holidays to Thailand and Poland.

"He wanted me to produce a LEGO animation describing how they met in a film style almost like Forrest Gump sitting on a park bench," Spence told ABC News of the project.

"It's a bit cheesy but that just made me like it more," he said.

The sweet trailer ended with a Lego Anderson telling Dally, "I realised I'm so so lucky and I was wondering, will you marry me?"

And she said yes!

The newly engaged couple are reportedly considering using the Lego figures as wedding cake toppers.
