Roger Federer survived a stirring comeback and five-set challenge against Swiss countryman Stan Wawrinka to take a giant leap into his first Australian Open final since 2010.
Rafael Nadal defeated Grigor Dimitrov in an incredibly tense five setter that went for just under five hours.
"Roger's got every chance ... if I'm presenting the trophy, and I don't know who is, but I'd love to be able to present Roger the trophy," Rod Laver told Fairfax Media.
There is no set formula for when the trophy presenter is announced.

More than a decade on, Laver says Federer is playing even better tennis. "When he played Berdych, I don't think he's ever played any better than that," he said. "It's just incredible.
"He adheres to all the things that you respect about him. He signs every autograph, the crowds love him, the way he plays, everything he does is almost for a reason."
