Youths caught on roof of Southern Cross Station

RAW: Four youths walk around the sloped roof of Southern Cross station on Friday afternoon.

The group included at least one female and three males, all wearing backpacks. Two were carrying cameras.

Station security ordered them down after about 10 minutes.

One of the male youths ducked for cover when he realised he had been spotted.

It is believed to be the second time in a week trespassers have made it onto the station's roof. It is not clear how they gained access to the roof.

Police were seen questioning the group about an hour later, although one witness said the young climbers appeared to be very relaxed.

A spokesman said three teenagers were found on Collins Street and received a ticket for trespassing.

One of the teens got away and there is an investigation into their whereabouts.
