There is no disguising the mass hysteria and joy at having the 14-time major champion back but it's a fervour almost matched by the frisson of fear that his back might not endure the rigours of regular competition. Woods has shown childlike delight in celebrating the apparent restoration of his health with a schedule that would have tested him in his prime.
