Mars attacks! Pop superstar Bruno confirmed as latest act to play the 2017 Grammy Awards

Bruno Mars will perform at the 2017 Grammy Awards.

The chart-topper will take to the stage at the prestigious ceremony which is being hosted by James Corden at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 12.

24K Magic star Bruno joins a lineup that includes likes of Adele, Metallica, John Legend, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.

The return of Bruno: Mars has been confirmed as the latest act to play the forthcoming 2017 Grammy Awards

Despite being a four-time Grammy-winner, the 31-year-old pop beefcake was not eligible for nominations this year as his album 24K Magic as it was released after the eligibility deadline.

Warbler Adele, 28 will be hoping her 2017 appearance goes better than last year's rendition of All I Ask, which was embarrassingly plagued by technical issues.

Neil Portnow, President of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, which organises the prestigious awards show, was full of excuses about what caused her bad luck.

He said: 'We had the most complicated show on television. Period. End of story.

Back in black: Superstar warbler Adele will be hoping her 2017 performance is not hit by technical glitches like last year

'With each musical performance, we change over the microphones, the wires. I mean, if you've been backstage - I can't understand how they get it done, but they do.

'All credit to her for how professional she is.

'Adele did a great job and we certainly don't like when those things happen, but those things happen sometimes.'

But the mother-of-one is not the only big-name diva set to perform.

For Beyonce has also been tipped appear on the night along with Ed Sheeran and Kanye West.

Testing their metal: Ageing rockers Metallica have also been confirmed
