- While not going into specific details, the singer explained that he had done things that made other people 'feel unsafe, violated and disrespected'
The frontman of rock band Cheap Girls has posted a statement confessing to 'predatory' behavior as the band announces their split.
Ian Graham, who has been the frontman for the Lansing, Michigan, band for almost ten years, shared the lengthy post on the group's Facebook page over the past weekend.
The statement appeared to see Ian attributing the break-up to his own behavior, beginning by saying that the band was 'something that I’ve used to exercise the worst aspects of my ego and control.'

Putting it out there: The statement details Ian's struggle with substance abuse and contains multiple admissions of bad behavior
He added: 'It is no longer comfortable or healthy for myself or others to be involved with it. Although these negative actions have been entirely my responsibility, we have decided as a group to end the band.'
The singer and bassist went on to detail his lengthy struggles with substance abuse, saying that his recent recovery from addiction led him to confronting 'how my actions have impacted others.'
'I’ve encouraged anger from those around me, both professionally and personally, by repeating behaviors I now know to be problematic,' he said.
'Through lying and selfishness, I’ve made things much more difficult than my friends and family have deserved. I’ve been especially difficult to deal with for my bandmates.'
However, he also admitted to having 'lacked the empathy' to see his effect on others, singling out his own relationships with women.
All over now: The band, from Lansing, Michigan, have been together for about ten years
No word yet: The statement didn't have any words from other members Adam Aymor (center) and Ben Graham (right)
'I’ve been manipulative, acted in predatory ways, abused the artist-fan dynamic and hurt many people along the way by making them feel unsafe, violated and disrespected,' he said.
While he did not go into any particular details, he claimed that he had done things in the past that 'make me literally sick to my stomach to think about.'
Ian added that he is currently undergoing therapy and is in a recovery program, vowing to work hard on himself.
The statement ends with confirmation that there will be no further performances of the band, but without any words from the other band members Adam Aymor and Ben Graham - Ian's brother.
Daily Mail Online has reached out to the band's management for further comment.
The post has been shared dozens of times and attracted plenty of comments, both supporting and condemning Ian over his admission.
