When it comes to mothering, Eva Amurri Martino is an open book.

In a post for her blog Happily Eva After, The 31-year-old mommy talked about why she made the tough decision to quit breastfeeding her three-month old son Major.

This comes after a post earlier in the month where the star confessed her baby suffered a serious skull crack after accidentally being dropped by the family's night nurse.

Honest Eva: Eva Amurri Martino recently opened up about her decision to quit breastfeeding her son Major in a post on her lifestyle blog Happily Eva After

Eva shared her feelings in a post titled 'My Relationship With Breastfeeding: Round Two'.

In the blog post, the daughter of Susan Sarandon talked about how her son's terrifying injury completely changed her 'breastfeeding journey' with the baby.

The actress explained that after her son Major's accident she began to suffer from 'some form of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, possibly linked to some form of Postpartum Depression.'

Nursing time: After her son's accident in November, the Saved star began to suffer anxiety and her 'milk supply dipped big time'

Unfortunately, the accident and the anxiety that followed took a toll her on her physically.

'My breastfeeding journey got totally thrown off. While we were in the hospital with him, and in the next couple of weeks, my milk supply dipped big time. The stress was just too much for my body.

Eva explained: 'What made this even worse is how much I would blame myself for it all...

'I felt like the Breastfeeding Police were going to somehow know the second I made the decision [to stop] and blame me for not trying hard enough, for not battling through and finding a solution.'

After talking with her husband Kyle Martino, the parents decided to make the change to baby formula with Major.

Although the choice was a challenge, the Saved actress felt like it was the right thing to do for both mother and child.

She eloquently explained: 'I think as Moms it’s never easy to make a decision based on our own needs, but it’s important to remember that as Mamas we are the beacons of light that our children follow.

'If we are miserable it’s very challenging to make our kids happy and to help them shine as brilliantly as they deserve to.'

She finished the post by asking her followers to share their own breastfeeding stories and thoughts about how parenting changes after a second child
