Larry Lamb channels notorious thief Brian Reader in dramatic new trailer for The Hatton Garden Job... based on real-life jewellery heist by ageing gang

The world was shocked to discover a gang of ageing East End criminals ransacked 73 boxes at the Hatton Garden Safety Deposit in London’s jewellery quarter after using a drill to bore a hole into the vault wall.

And now a new trailer for The Hatton Garden Job, which is centred around the 2015 heist, has been revealed ahead of its April 14th release and promises to be just as intense as the real life crime.

Gavin & Stacey star Larry Lamb plays the 76-year-old mastermind Brian Reader - who was jailed for six years - in the flick which begins with the chilling narrative: 'Let me tell you about the feeling. It's in your blood. Young or old'.

The gang stole goods from the safety deposit during a meticulously planned break-in over the Easter weekend.

The plot saw the men use a drill to bore a hole into the vault wall before stealing 73 boxes containing gold, diamonds and sapphires.

While there was much speculation that it was carried out by an elite group of thieves or foreign professionals, it later emerged those responsible were retired hard men.

The vault and wall will be relocated to the Museum of London so the public can see how it was targeted, although this process is expected to take at least six years.

The Hatton Garden Job will hit cinemas on April 14th - exactly two years after the robbery took place.
