The home looks as though it has been left in a hurry with not just the furniture left behind, but also books, pictures, toys, and even sporting trophies. With decaying walls, flaking paint and peeling wallpaper the mansion is a far cry from its former self.

 The rapper Phillip Nickolas Katsabanis, 21, better known as 'Stitches', was arrested for gun and drug possession after officers found him parked in a handicapped spot in Miami, Florida. Nathan and Lori Ryberg love adopting disabled children

NEW Nathan and Lori Ryberg, both 55, from Queen Creek, Arizona, have been caring for people with special needs since they met in college in 1979. They both majored in social work and babysat for their professors who had children with disabilities. Nathan and Lori married after graduating, inset left, and today they have 13 children, seven are adopted out of the foster system and six are their biological children. Lori has homeschooled them all and eight of their kids have a physical or developmental disability. Nathan is a police detective with the Tempe Police Department and Lori is a part-time teacher. Antarctica captured in black and white photos

Dramatic pictures captured by American photographer Christopher Michel, highlight the unforgiving environment of Antarctica and the Arctic. But they also show people and industries braving the elements in the North and South Poles and battling the same icy conditions faced by explorer Captain Scott a century ago. Michel has visited the Antarctic five times and the Arctic twice, capturing the polar caps in black and white.
