How to make 3D paper eggs

Penny Flanagan

Easter eggs don’t have to be chocolate, you can make these pretty hanging Easter eggs with coloured paper and a stapler.

You will need

  • 1 x egg template
  • 1 x sheet of A4 card (210gsm will go through the printer)
  • patterned or coloured paper
  • stapler
  • scissors
  • lead pencil
  • hole punch
  • jute string

Activity

Print out the egg template onto white card.  There are three sizes of eggs you can make: small, medium and large.

Choose a size and trace five egg shapes for each egg you want to make onto patterned paper.

Place all five egg shapes on top of one another in neat pile, line up all the edges. Fold the top egg in half, lengthways (as a guide to where the centre line is.)

Staple the centre line once or twice.

Now fan out all the layers so that you end up with a three dimensional egg.

Punch a hole in the top, thread with string and hang your eggs around the house for Easter.
