Easter basket

Add a little something extra to this years Easter egg hunt by making this cute egg basket for the kids.

Easter egg basket

Materials

  • Paint brush
  • Yellow paint
  • Round cardboard box available from craft stores - height approximately 8cm  and diameter 12cm
  • Crafter’s Choice craft glue
  • A4 piece of coloured cardboard
  • Approximately 40 coloured craft sticks 11.2x1cm, cut to required length - alternatively you could use plain craft sticks and paint in rainbow colours
  • Pinking shears
  • Stapler
  • Pencil and ruler to mark the cardboard

Decoration:

  • Cotton wool
  • Small craft Easter chickens
  • Chocolate eggs

Step 1

Paint inside the round cardboard box and allow to dry.

Step 2

Cut a strip of yellow cardboard 3cm x 29.7cm with pinking shears.

Step 3

Staple the zig zag strip of yellow cardboard to the inside of box lengthways. This will make the handle for your basket.

Step 4

Cut 2 squares of yellow card 3.5 x 3.5cm

Step 5

With the craft glue, stick the yellow square card over the staple inside the basket to eliminate rough edges

Step 6

Glue the craft sticks in alternating colours around the outside of the newly painted round cardboard box; allow the glued craft sticks to dry. If the craft sticks are taller than the round cardboard box allow the sticks to butt at the bottom and overhang at the opening.

Step 7

Line the basket with cotton wool then fill the with chocolate eggs and small craft chickens.
