5. Consolacion Shipwreck
Pirates wreaked so much havoc in on the seas, they could actually make their enemies sink their own boats. In August of 1680 a ship called the Consolacion sunk off the coast of Ecuador. The galleon was encountered by a group of English pirates, after it had picked up a large amount of gold from Lima, Peru. Before Pirates could get their hands on some of the treasures they were seeking the Spanish, set the ship on fire. They’d rather have the boat at the bottom of the sea then hand it over. A crew of explorer eventually salvaged the wreck in 1997 near the Santa Clara Island of Ecuador. Large amounts of gold and silver coins were uncovered and are even on sale online.
4. Montego Bay Pirate Treasure
Montego Bay located on the island of Jamaica is an infamous place where pirates commonly lurked so it made for an excellent location to search for pirate treasures! A group of American treasure hunters set sail in the jamaican waters hoping to snatch some booty. The 17th century English vessel named the Manticore, was badly damaged and found in international waters just outside the Jamaican border limit. One of the scuba swimmers, Rick Miller, describes it as being an amazing experience, with gold and silver everywhere! Treasure’s one could only dream of! Just the weight of the precious metals alone is worth 187 million dollars.
3. Black Beard’s Ship in North Carolina
In 1966, a an important piece of history was brought to the surface with the help from underwater divers off the coast of Beaufort, North Carolina. The vessel of, Queen Anne’s Revenge finally saw the light of day once again. This time, the boat came from Blackbeard himself and it is a true miracle this artifact from the past was brought to surface. They came across the heavy cannons, some weighing 2000 pounds each. 30 cannons were found total. Each cannonball that was fired, weighed at least 6 pounds. More than 280,000 rare historical facts were found. This pirate met Davy Jones locker in a gruesome fashion. British soldiers displayed is severed head on the ship where he was executed as a warning to pirates. That’s just a pirate’s life for you. This replica is what it possibly would have looked like at full strength and would have struck fear in any sailors heart! His flag was also gruesome.
2. Pirates Hand
While doing a little bit of cleaning, a Florida couple in Tampa Bay were going through their attic when they came across a startling discovery. In the attic was a wooden box with a treasure map. Spanish coins and the strangest of all; a severed hand with a ring on it! Could these be some artifacts left from the legendary Jose Gaspar, a legendary Spanish pirate who would sail off the west coast of Florida, although it’s still a mystery of whether he even existed at all. Before you start jumping to conclusions, the authenticity is hard to prove. Pirates weren’t too well-known for openly documenting their every move. The Tampa Bay History curator, told WFLA news that he believed the coins are too thin to be authentic. And who knows if that hand thing is even real?! Is this finding a morbid hoax or possibly an unbelievable pirate hoax?
1. The Whydah Discovery
The Whydah was a British slave ship that was originally captured by “Black Sam” and was found off the coast of Cape Cod in Massachusetts in 1984 by Barry Clifford. He actually credits a pirate treasure map that many discredited as being false. It seems to be the holy grail of pirate discoveries! Priceless artifacts were discovered including 200,000 individual pieces were received under only 14 feet of water. Rare gold and silver coins, gold jewelry and artifacts, cannons, sword handles and even a boy’s leg! The boat is believed to carry the plunder of 10 ships. Spanish Galleons were relentless looted by Black Sam until him and his crew were swept away by a strong storm in 1717. Divers pulled together huge clumps of gold coin masses that stuck together from years of being underwater. A museum exhibition called “Real Pirates: The Untold Story of the Whydah, from Slave Ship to Pirate Ship”, toured the United States. Barry believes there is more treasure out there from this wreck.

Jake and the Never Land Pirates follows the adventures of Jake and his crew as he looks to collect gold doubloons in Never Land. Inspired by characters and the magical land behind the second star to the right in the Disney Classic Peter Pan, Jake and the Never Land Pirates features classic characters like Mr. Smee and Captain Hook who often get in the way of Jake’s plans. It’s always an adventure with Jake and his crew!

JAKE AND THE NEVER LAND PIRATES CHARACTER LIST
• JAKE – Jake looks to collect as many gold doubloons as possible on each of his adventures. Often the one saving the day, Jake is both brave, skilled with a sword and an excellent friend to his crew mates.
• IZZY – Not only is Izzy Jake’s best friend and member of the crew, but she also had a little bag of pixie dust that can help the gang out of tricky situations when she says “Pixie dust away!” Izzy often likes to react to trouble when she says “Yay hey no way!”
• CUBBY – Although Cubby’s the youngest member of the crew, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have as much responsibility! Cubby is an excellent navigator and has a map of Never Land to help the gang around the island. Cubby’s catchphrase is “Aww Coconuts!” which he’ll often use when trouble arises.
• SKULLY – As Jake’s parrot friend, Skully does his best to look after the whole team and keep a watchful eye from the sky whilst they’re on their adventures.
• CAPTAIN JAMES HOOK – You’ll probably recognize Captain Hook from Peter Pan as the baddy or the villain of Never Land, which is also still true in Captain Jake and the Never Land Pirates. Hook will often refer to Jake and his crew as the ‘popinjays’ especially when they’re getting in the way of him getting his own way! Captain Hook loves treasure and sails aboard the Jolly Rodger looking out for the popinjays getting in the way of his plans.
• MR. SMEE – Sidekick to Captain Hook, Mr. Smee often gets called a ‘blundering idiot’ for not doing as Hook told him to do or for letting the popinjays get away. Mr. Smee looks up to Captain Hook but is also scared of upsetting him. Mr. Smee has a kind heart really and will often help Hook see the error in his way.
• SHARKY & BONES – Whilst members of Captain Hook’s crew, they won’t often help all that much in Captain Hook’s plans. Sharky & Bones are normally too interested in singing a song or grand musical number.

Piracy
Piracy is an act of robbery or criminal violence at sea. Those who engage in acts of piracy are called pirates. The earliest documented instances of piracy were in the 14th century BC, when the Sea Peoples, a group of ocean raiders, attacked the ships of the Aegean and Mediterranean civilizations. Narrow channels which funnel shipping into predictable routes have long created opportunities for piracy, as well as for privateering and commerce raiding. Neverland
Neverland is a fictional location featured in the works of J. M. Barrie and those based on them. It is the dwelling place of Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, the Lost Boys and others. Although not all people in Neverland cease to age, its best known resident famously refused to grow up, and it is often used as a metaphor for eternal childhood (and childishness), immortality, and escapism. It was first introduced as "the Never Never Land" in the theatre play Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up by Scottish writer J. M. Barrie, first staged in 1904.
In his 1911 novelization Peter and Wendy, Barrie referred to "the Neverland", and its many variations "the Neverlands". In the earliest drafts of Barrie's play, the island was called "Peter's Never Never Never Land", a name possibly influenced by "the Never Never", a contemporary term for outback Australia. In the 1928 published version of the script, it was shortened to "the Never Land". Neverland has been featured prominently in subsequent works, either adapting Barrie's works or expanding upon them. These Neverlands sometimes vary in nature from the original.

Captain Hook
Captain James Hook is a fictional character, the antagonist of J. M. Barrie's play Peter Pan; or, the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up and its various adaptations, in which he is Peter Pan's archenemy. The character is a pirate captain of the brig Jolly Roger; Barrie describes him as Blackbeard's former bo'sun. His two principal fears are the sight of his own blood (supposedly an unnatural colour) and the crocodile who pursues him after eating the hand cut off by Pan. An iron hook replaced his severed hand, which gave the pirate his name. After getting a taste of Hook, the crocodile pursues him relentlessly, but the ticking clock it has swallowed warns Hook of its presence.
Creation of the character
Hook did not appear in early drafts of the play, wherein the capricious and coercive Peter Pan was closest to a "villain", but was created for a front-cloth scene depicting the children's journey home. Later, Barrie expanded the scene, on the premise that children were fascinated by pirates, and expanded the role of the captain as the play developed. The character was originally cast to be played by Dorothea Baird, the actress playing Mary Darling, but Gerald du Maurier, already playing George Darling (and the brother of Sylvia Llewelyn Davies), persuaded Barrie to let him take the additional role instead, a casting tradition since replicated in many stage and film productions of the Peter Pan story.

Jake and the Never Land Pirates
Jake and the Never Land Pirates (also known as Captain Jake and the Never Land Pirates in the fourth season and associated merchandise) is an Annie Award-winning musical and interactive animated television series shown on Disney Junior. It is based on Disney's Peter Pan franchise, which in turn is based on the famous book and play by British author J.M. Barrie. It is the first Disney Junior original show following the switch from Playhouse Disney. It stars Sean Ryan Fox from Henry Danger, Megan Richie, Jadon Sand, David Arquette, Corey Burton, Jeff Bennett and Loren Hoskins. The titular character Jake was previously voiced by Colin Ford, and then later by Cameron Boyce, and now Sean Ryan Fox, while Izzy was voiced for the first three seasons by Madison Pettis and Cubby was voiced by Jonathan Morgan Heit. Disney Junior
Disney Junior is an American digital cable and satellite television network that is owned by the Disney Channels Worldwide unit of the Disney–ABC Television Group, itself a unit of the Disney Media Networks division of The Walt Disney Company. Aimed mainly at children under 8 years of age, its programming consists of original first-run television series, theatrically-released and made-for-DVD movies and select other third-party programming.
Disney Junior also lends its name to a morning and early afternoon program block seen on sister network Disney Channel, branded as "Disney Junior on Disney Channel", airing weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (6:00 to 10:30 a.m. during the summer months and designated school break periods) and weekends from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. Eastern and Pacific Time.
As of February 2015, Disney Junior is available to approximately 74,972,000 households (64.4% of those with television) in the United States.
History
Origins
The Walt Disney Company first attempted to launch a 24-hour cable channel for preschoolers in the United States, when the company announced plans to launch the Playhouse Disney Channel, a television offshoot of Disney Channel's daytime programming block Playhouse Disney, which debuted on the channel on May 8, 1997 (airing during the morning hours seven days a week, with the Monday through Friday blocks lasting until the early afternoon). Plans for the United States network were ultimately shelved, however dedicated Playhouse Disney Channels were launched in other countries internationally.

Consolacion Shipwreck Pirates wreaked so much havoc in on the seas, they could actually make their enemies sink their own boats. In August of 1680 a ship called the Consolacion sunk off the coast of Ecuador. The galleon was encountered by a group of English pirates, after it had picked up a large amount of gold from Lima, Peru. Before Pirates could get their hands on some of the treasures they were seeking the Spanish, set the ship on fire. They’d rather have the boat at the bottom of the sea then hand it over. A crew of explorer eventually salvaged the wreck in 1997 near the Santa Clara Island of Ecuador. Large amounts of gold and silver coins were uncovered and are even on sale online. 4. Montego Bay Pirate Treasure Montego Bay located on the island of Jamaica is an infamous place where pirates commonly lurked so it made for an excellent location to search for pirate treasures! A group of American treasure hunters set sail in the jamaican waters hoping to snatch some booty. The 17th century English vessel named the Manticore, was badly damaged and found in international waters just outside the Jamaican border limit. One of the scuba swimmers, Rick Miller, describes it as being an amazing experience, with gold and silver everywhere! Treasure’s one could only dream of! Just the weight of the precious metals alone is worth 187 million dollars. 3. Black Beard’s Ship in North Carolina In 1966, a an important piece of history was brought to the surface with the help from underwater divers off the coast of Beaufort, North Carolina. The vessel of, Queen Anne’s Revenge finally saw the light of day once again. This time, the boat came from Blackbeard himself and it is a true miracle this artifact from the past was brought to surface. They came across the heavy cannons, some weighing 2000 pounds each. 30 cannons were found total. Each cannonball that was fired, weighed at least 6 pounds. More than 280,000 rare historical facts were found. This pirate met Davy Jones locker in a gruesome fashion. British soldiers displayed is severed head on the ship where he was executed as a warning to pirates. That’s just a pirate’s life for you. This replica is what it possibly would have looked like at full strength and would have struck fear in any sailors heart! His flag was also gruesome. 2. Pirates Hand While doing a little bit of cleaning, a Florida couple in Tampa Bay were going through their attic when they came across a startling discovery. In the attic was a wooden box with a treasure map. Spanish coins and the strangest of all; a severed hand with a ring on it! Could these be some artifacts left from the legendary Jose Gaspar, a legendary Spanish pirate who would sail off the west coast of Florida, although it’s still a mystery of whether he even existed at all. Before you start jumping to conclusions, the authenticity is hard to prove. Pirates weren’t too well-known for openly documenting their every move. The Tampa Bay History curator, told WFLA news that he believed the coins are too thin to be authentic. And who knows if that hand thing is even real?! Is this finding a morbid hoax or possibly an unbelievable pirate hoax? 1. The Whydah Discovery The Whydah was a British slave ship that was originally captured by “Black Sam” and was found off the coast of Cape Cod in Massachusetts in 1984 by Barry Clifford. He actually credits a pirate treasure map that many discredited as being false. It seems to be the holy grail of pirate discoveries! Priceless artifacts were discovered including 200,000 individual pieces were received under only 14 feet of water. Rare gold and silver coins, gold jewelry and artifacts, cannons, sword handles and even a boy’s leg! The boat is believed to carry the plunder of 10 ships. Spanish Galleons were relentless looted by Black Sam until him and his crew were swept away by a strong storm in 1717. Divers pulled together huge clumps of gold coin masses that stuck together from years of being underwater. A museum exhibition called “Real Pirates: The Untold Story of the Whydah, from Slave Ship to Pirate Ship”, toured the United States. Barry believes there is more treasure out there from this wreck. -

5. Consolacion Shipwreck
Pirates wreaked so much havoc in on the seas, they could actually make their enemies sink their own boats. In August of 1680 a ship called the Consolacion sunk off the coast of Ecuador. The galleon was encountered by a group of English pirates, after it had picked up a large amount of gold from Lima, Peru. Before Pirates could get their hands on some of the treasures they were seeking the Spanish, set the ship on fire. They’d rather have the boat at the bottom of the sea then hand it over. A crew of explorer eventually salvaged the wreck in 1997 near the Santa Clara Island of Ecuador. Large amounts of gold and silver coins were uncovered and are even on sale online.
4. Montego Bay Pirate Treasure
Montego Bay located on the island of Jamaica is an infamous place where pirates commonly lurked so it made for an excellent location to search for pirate treasures! A group of American treasure hunters set sail in the jamaican waters hoping to snatch some booty. The 17th century English vessel named the Manticore, was badly damaged and found in international waters just outside the Jamaican border limit. One of the scuba swimmers, Rick Miller, describes it as being an amazing experience, with gold and silver everywhere! Treasure’s one could only dream of! Just the weight of the precious metals alone is worth 187 million dollars.
3. Black Beard’s Ship in North Carolina
In 1966, a an important piece of history was brought to the surface with the help from underwater divers off the coast of Beaufort, North Carolina. The vessel of, Queen Anne’s Revenge finally saw the light of day once again. This time, the boat came from Blackbeard himself and it is a true miracle this artifact from the past was brought to surface. They came across the heavy cannons, some weighing 2000 pounds each. 30 cannons were found total. Each cannonball that was fired, weighed at least 6 pounds. More than 280,000 rare historical facts were found. This pirate met Davy Jones locker in a gruesome fashion. British soldiers displayed is severed head on the ship where he was executed as a warning to pirates. That’s just a pirate’s life for you. This replica is what it possibly would have looked like at full strength and would have struck fear in any sailors heart! His flag was also gruesome.
2. Pirates Hand
While doing a little bit of cleaning, a Florida couple in Tampa Bay were going through their attic when they came across a startling discovery. In the attic was a wooden box with a treasure map. Spanish coins and the strangest of all; a severed hand with a ring on it! Could these be some artifacts left from the legendary Jose Gaspar, a legendary Spanish pirate who would sail off the west coast of Florida, although it’s still a mystery of whether he even existed at all. Before you start jumping to conclusions, the authenticity is hard to prove. Pirates weren’t too well-known for openly documenting their every move. The Tampa Bay History curator, told WFLA news that he believed the coins are too thin to be authentic. And who knows if that hand thing is even real?! Is this finding a morbid hoax or possibly an unbelievable pirate hoax?

The Whydah was a British slave ship that was originally captured by “Black Sam” and was found off the coast of Cape Cod in Massachusetts in 1984 by Barry Clifford. He actually credits a pirate treasure map that many discredited as being false. It seems to be the holy grail of pirate discoveries! Priceless artifacts were discovered including 200,000 individual pieces were received under only 14 feet of water. Rare gold and silver coins, gold jewelry and artifacts, cannons, sword handles and even a boy’s leg! The boat is believed to carry the plunder of 10 ships. Spanish Galleons were relentless looted by Black Sam until him and his crew were swept away by a strong storm in 1717. Divers pulled together huge clumps of gold coin masses that stuck together from years of being underwater. A museum exhibition called “Real Pirates: The Untold Story of the Whydah, from Slave Ship to Pirate Ship”, toured the United States. Barry believes there is more treasure out there from this wreck.

Jake and the Never Land Pirates follows the adventures of Jake and his crew as he looks to collect gold doubloons in Never Land. Inspired by characters and the magical land behind the second star to the right in the Disney Classic Peter Pan, Jake and the Never Land Pirates features classic characters like Mr. Smee and Captain Hook who often get in the way of Jake’s plans. It’s always an adventure with Jake and his crew!
Jake and the Never Land Pirates has some fantastic songs to sing-a-long to including the theme song Yo Ho Lets Go, Captain Hook (Is a Cranky Crook), Talk like a Pirate and Roll up the Map!
JAKE AND THE NEVER LAND PIRATES CHARACTER LIST
• JAKE – Jake looks to collect as many gold doubloons as possible on each of his adventures. Often the one saving the day, Jake is both brave, skilled with a sword and an excellent friend to his crew mates.
• IZZY – Not only is Izzy Jake’s best friend and member of the crew, but she also had a little bag of pixie dust that can help the gang out of tricky situations when she says “Pixie dust away!” Izzy often likes to react to trouble when she says “Yay hey no way!”
• CUBBY – Although Cubby’s the youngest member of the crew, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have as much responsibility! Cubby is an excellent navigator and has a map of Never Land to help the gang around the island. Cubby’s catchphrase is “Aww Coconuts!” which he’ll often use when trouble arises.
• SKULLY – As Jake’s parrot friend, Skully does his best to look after the whole team and keep a watchful eye from the sky whilst they’re on their adventures.
• CAPTAIN JAMES HOOK – You’ll probably recognize Captain Hook from Peter Pan as the baddy or the villain of Never Land, which is also still true in Captain Jake and the Never Land Pirates. Hook will often refer to Jake and his crew as the ‘popinjays’ especially when they’re getting in the way of him getting his own way! Captain Hook loves treasure and sails aboard the Jolly Rodger looking out for the popinjays getting in the way of his plans.
• MR. SMEE – Sidekick to Captain Hook, Mr. Smee often gets called a ‘blundering idiot’ for not doing as Hook told him to do or for letting the popinjays get away. Mr. Smee looks up to Captain Hook but is also scared of upsetting him. Mr. Smee has a kind heart really and will often help Hook see the error in his way.
• SHARKY & BONES – Whilst members of Captain Hook’s crew, they won’t often help all that much in Captain Hook’s plans. Sharky & Bones are normally too interested in singing a song or grand musical number.

Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea—notably Jack. Jack's only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. Jake and the Never Land Pirates follows the adventures of Jake and his crew as he looks to collect gold doubloons in Never Land. Inspired by characters and the magical land behind the second star to the right in the Disney Classic Peter Pan, Jake and the Never Land Pirates features classic characters like Mr. Smee and Captain Hook who often get in the way of Jake’s plans. It’s always an adventure with Jake and his crew!
Jake and the Never Land Pirates has some fantastic songs to sing-a-long to including the theme song Yo Ho Lets Go, Captain Hook (Is a Cranky Crook), Talk like a Pirate and Roll up the Map!
JAKE AND THE NEVER LAND PIRATES CHARACTER LIST
• JAKE – Jake looks to collect as many gold doubloons as possible on each of his adventures. Often the one saving the day, Jake is both brave, skilled with a sword and an excellent friend to his crew mates.
• IZZY – Not only is Izzy Jake’s best friend and member of the crew, but she also had a little bag of pixie dust that can help the gang out of tricky situations when she says “Pixie dust away!” Izzy often likes to react to trouble when she says “Yay hey no way!”
• CUBBY – Although Cubby’s the youngest member of the crew, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have as much responsibility! Cubby is an excellent navigator and has a map of Never Land to help the gang around the island. Cubby’s catchphrase is “Aww Coconuts!” which he’ll often use when trouble arises.
• SKULLY – As Jake’s parrot friend, Skully does his best to look after the whole team and keep a watchful eye from the sky whilst they’re on their adventures.
• CAPTAIN JAMES HOOK – You’ll probably recognize Captain Hook from Peter Pan as the baddy or the villain of Never Land, which is also still true in Captain Jake and the Never Land Pirates. Hook will often refer to Jake and his crew as the ‘popinjays’ especially when they’re getting in the way of him getting his own way! Captain Hook loves treasure and sails aboard the Jolly Rodger looking out for the popinjays getting in the way of his plans.
• MR. SMEE – Sidekick to Captain Hook, Mr. Smee often gets called a ‘blundering idiot’ for not doing as Hook told him to do or for letting the popinjays get away. Mr. Smee looks up to Captain Hook but is also scared of upsetting him. Mr. Smee has a kind heart really and will often help Hook see the error in his way.
• SHARKY & BONES – Whilst members of Captain Hook’s crew, they won’t often help all that much in Captain Hook’s plans. Sharky & Bones are normally too interested in singing a song or grand musical number.
