Abacus Data is a Canadian polling and market research firm based in Ottawa. It was founded in August 2010,[1] soon after its founder David Coletto graduated from the University of Calgary with a PhD in political science.[2]

The company's surveys and political opinion polls are sometimes cited in Canadian news media, including the Globe and Mail, the National Post, the Toronto Star, and Sun Media newspapers.[3][4] A particular focus is surveys about Millennials.[citation needed]

In 2013, Bruce Anderson joined Abacus Data as Chairman.[5] Tim Powers of Summa Strategies is the firm's Managing Director

The firm conducts most of its research online and has been recognized as one of the most thoughtful and innovative firms in the country[who?][citation needed].
