1. SAUSAGE DOG RACES

The Werriwa Wiener Dash is on for the second year at the Bungendore Show on Sunday, and they're also trying to set the world record for most dachshunds in one place. The official count is at midday, and anyone with a dachshund can get involved. There's also dachshund races and a dapper dachshund fashion competition. Entry to the show is $5-$10, under 13s are free, and entry to the dachshund races is $2 charity donation. See bungendoreshow.com.au.

2. CANCON

Australia's largest gathering of tabletop game enthusiasts is on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Exhibition Park. Free entry. See cgs.asn.au/cancon.

3. BEN & JERRY'S OPENAIR CINEMA

The cinemas under the stars continue this weekend with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (M) on Friday night, Red Dog: True Blue (PG) on Saturday, and Why Him (MA) on Sunday. 4. BEACH PARTY

Mooseheads will relax their dress standards for their annual beach party on Saturday night from 9pm. Don your boardies, bikinis, singlets, sunnies, rashies or wetsuits - there's prizes for best dressed. $5 entry. See facebook.com.

5. FREE KIDS MOVIE

On Saturday at 3pm, the National Portrait Gallery has a free screening of animated film The Secret Life of Pets (G). No bookings required but limited space. Free. See portrait.gov.au

The Museum Bar has live music by Adelaide singer-songwriter Clay Stephens and Kanion from 3pm on Sunday, plus there's food and drinks available at the Lakeside Deck. Free. See nma.gov.au.
