Sportscaster Erin Andrews reveals her secret battle with cervical cancer
- The sports reporter and Dancing with the Stars host was diagnosed with cervical cancer in September
- She underwent surgery in October, and is now cancer free
- The cancer diagnosis came just six months after she won her lawsuit against her stalker, who filmed her naked in her hotel room

Sports reporter Erin Andrews has revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer last year.
In an interview with MMQB, Andrews said she was at the New York Giants training facility on September 24 when she got a call from her doctor.
Her doctor said that she had received the results of a test that showed she had cervical cancer and would need surgery as soon as possible.
At the time, Andrews was covering the NFL season and hosting Dancing with the Stars, but she didn't tell her co-workers about the scare.
Instead, she covered the Sunday game between the Giants and the Washington Redskins, then flew back to L.A. to plan her surgery.
She took off Monday and Tuesday's tapings of Dancing with the Stars, saying she needed to support her boyfriend Jarrett Stoll through a family tragedy (his nephew had been killed in a car accident that weekend, but in reality she was mostly planning for her surgery).
She went under the knife on October 11 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, telling her doctor beforehand that she didn't plan to watch any football games at home this season.

Andrews filmed an interview with Packers wideout Jordy Nelson just three days after surgery
While Andrews looked in good spirits for the interview, her co-workers noticed she was not her normal self during the trip to Green Bay
'This is [Fox’s] Super Bowl year, and I’m not missing the Super Bowl,' she said.
'Let’s not worry about that right now,' her boyfriend, who is now her fiancé, responded. 'Let’s just get you better.'
But Andrews was insistent.
'You wouldn’t miss a game,' she told Stoll, who played in the NHL. 'You’d play through any injury, do whatever it takes to get back out there. That’s going to be me.'
Just two days after her surgery, Andrews was on a red-eye flight from L.A. to Green Bay to shoot an interview with Packers wideout Jordy Nelson.

'Should I have been standing for a full game five days after surgery? Let’s just say the doctor didn’t recommend that,' Andrews said. 'But...sports were my escape. I needed to be with my crew.'
She went back to L.A. for a follow-up procedure on November 11. And on November 17, she got the good news from her doctor that the cancer was gone and she wouldn't need radiation or chemotherapy.
While she tried to keep her cancer battle secret from her co-workers, she wasn't acting herself during the trip to Wisconsin and her director, Rich Russo, noticed. So eventually Andrews shared her story.
Last year was rough for Andrews, whose lawsuit against her stalker finally came to a close.
The incident happened in 2008, when her stalker Michael David Barrett released a tape of her naked in her hotel room, which he recorded through the peephole of her door.
In March, she won the case - a jury awarding her $55million dollars.
'After the trial everyone kept telling me, "You’re so strong, for going through all of this, for holding down a job in football, for being the only woman on the crew,"' Andrews says. 'Finally I got to the point where I believed it too. "Hey, I have cancer, but dammit, I am strong, and I can do this."'
