'Pregnant' Chelsee Healey turns heads in elaborate gold gown as she hits the red carpet at the NTAs... but tries to hide her 'bump' with her bag

She is reportedly expecting her first child with on/off boyfriend Jack Malloy.

But Chelsee Healey tried her best to keep her stomach covered as she wowed on the red carpet at the National Television Awards in London on Wednesday.

The Hollyoaks actress, 28, arrived in style in a head-turning gold gown with elaborate detailing.

The dress, which boasted a combination of gold lame, sequins and tulle, worked wonderfully when it came to distracting the eye away from the tummy, which she coincidetally covered with a clutch bag.

Mailonline has contacted Chelsee's reps for comment.

The appearance at the prizegiving comes just weeks after reports emerged suggesting she is pregnant with ex-con beau's baby.

The pair recently reconciled after their split in 2016. 

A source told The Sun: 'Chelsee and Jack’s relationship over the years has hardly been the most stable in showbiz.

'But she hopes having a baby together will make their bond stronger. Chelsee knows it will be tough but she believes there’s enough support around her to make it work.'

The Hollyoaks star split from beau Jack in July 2016 as she struggled to cope after he was jailed in November 2015 for 12 months for dangerous driving, using a vehicle without insurance and driving while disqualified.

Although he was released early in March, his time behind bars proved too much for the pair and they ended their relationship just a few months later.  

However, the pair have reconciled and are excited about starting a family together.

And while the Strictly star prepares for life with the pitter patter of tiny feet, the TV insider insisted the baby won't affect her role as Goldie McQueen - who is mother to twin boys on the Channel 4 soap.  

The source added: 'This does not mean she will be leaving Hollyoaks. In fact, it signals a much more mature Chelsee, in a stable acting job in a long-running soap. Exec producer Bryan Kirkwood knew about her pregnancy very early on and plans are in place in terms of storylines and writing her in and out.'

Previously discussing her feisty character, she revealed that acting the part isn't the hardest part of her new role, but donning the hair and make-up required. 

Speaking on Lorraine in December, the former Waterloo Road actress admitted that her extravagant crimson dip-dyed wig is the bane of her new character, revealing: 'It weighs me down.'

'I have to wear it every day!' but begrudgingly admitted: 'It's brilliant for the character.'
