They might have hoped to take home a gong.

But some stars were definitely not winning any prizes for their fashion choices as they arrived at the National Television Awards in London.  

From Geordie Shore's Marnie Simpson flashing too much skin to X Factor star Saara Aalto flouncing down the red carpet in a bubblegum pink prom dress - a handful of famous faces took fashion risks that did not pay off.

Lizzie Cundy's genie-inspired gold gown was more fancy dress than fancy party, and while Scarlett Moffatt is the queen of the jungle, her baggy shorts suit was a royal mess. 

And while it is not Katie Price's first appearance on a worst dressed list, this time the former glamour model made the cut even though she was covered up from head to toe.

Marnie Simpson, star of Geordie Shore, wore an ensemble was nothing short of shocking as she flashed an eye-popping amount of skin with the dress which left onlookers scratching their heads as to what was actually on display. She was joined by her on-off beau Lewis Bloor who previously starred in TOWIE.

Love Island star Olivia Buckland meanwhile went super racy in a similar black sheer gown although she made a more successful attempt at protecting her modesty as she wore a black body beneath the look.

She was joined on the red carpet by her new fiance and co-star Alex Bowen who opted for a quirky snakeskin velvet blazer. The couple enjoyed a mini reunion with a bevy of their fellow 'Islanders'. 

Among them was Alex's Love Island ex-Zara Holland, who arrived at the event in a plunging floor-length gown in a shade of bubblegum pink.

The busty, figure-hugging ensemble was an off-the-shoulder affair, and featured a lacy floral pattern.

Another reality star, Finnish singer Saara Alto, who came runner-up in the most recent series of the X Factor looked delighted with her hot pink prom-dress inspired gown.

Never one to put on a minimal display, Katie Price opted for a dramatic look of a voluminous golden skirt with a tight black top that struggled to stretch across her ample curves. 

Hollyoaks actress missed the mark in a Oriental-inspired red and gold fishtail gown that she paired with a thick gold choker. 

And while TOWIE star Elliott Wright looked smart in a black shirt and green blazer, his fiancee Sadie Stuart appeared to have forgotten to iron her gold gown. 

EastEnders actress Gillian Taylforth appeared moments away from popping out as she posed in her gold gown.
