She's ready for her close up... again! Glenn Close and Andrew Lloyd Webber promote Broadway revival of his Sunset Boulevard musical

She received rave reviews for her performance as fictional faded Hollywood star Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Sunset Boulevard when it opened on Broadway in 1994.

Now, 22 years later, Glenn Close is set to reprise her role in a revival of the show at the Palace Theatre.

The 69-year-old and Andrew, now Baron Lloyd-Webber, along with the entire cast, turned up at the theatre to promote the new production, due to open in February for a 16-week run.

Glenn suited up in black, with her pixie cut,  white blonde hair the only pop of colour aside from her rosy red lips.

She posed in front of a giant poster of herself as Norma, the character created by Gloria Swanson in the classic 1950 film that won seven Oscars, including best actress for Gloria.

Directed by Billy Wilder, it ended with the unhinged Norma walking down a staircase, saying the now iconic line, 'All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close up,'  referring to director Cecil B. Demille.

Andrew looked far more casual in  a Blue jacket over a patterned shirt, grey slacks and black trainers.

The Broadway revival of the musical comes after Glenn starred in it in London's West End to great success last year.

'It’s not every day you get to re-explore a character that you did 22 years before,' Glenn told the Los Angeles Times in October.

Cuddling up: With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sunset Boulevard will be his fourth production running concurrently on Broadway

'To come back to a character as iconic and rich as Norma Desmond is really a privilege - it shows how much you’ve learned in life and in your craft.'

The  musical begins previews on February 2 before opening on February 9 for a 16-week run.

According to Variety, Sunset Boulevard will be the fourth Lloyd Webber musical running concurrently on Broadway, joining The Phantom Of The Opera, School Of Rock and Cats.
