Her name was absent from the guest list on Thursday evening, but Kate Wright was there by extension as rumoured love interest Rio Ferdinand celebrated the relaunch of his Manchester restaurant.

The TOWIE regular was replaced by voluptuous co-star Danielle Armstrong, who had travelled up the M1 to help former Manchester United and England defender Rio reopen the doors of his popular Italian eatery Rosso following a full refurbishment.

The TV personality caught the eye in a chic cream top and fitted leather trousers as she posed for photos shortly after arriving at the Spring Gardens venue.

Kate meanwhile has seen her love life played out on screen in TOWIE as her chequered long-term relationship with Dan Edgar disintegrated onscreen.

Now, sources claim the duo have struck a flame, with insiders telling the publication: 'Rio and Kate have enjoyed spending time with each other with other friends. There’s a real connection there but Rio is in no rush to turn this into a serious relationship.
