Energy saving tips: Is it cheaper to have my heating on at night or during the day as I prepare for the winter freeze?
I’m trying to cut down the amount I spend on my energy bills, does it cost me more to have my heating on during the day or at night? If there is a difference in price depending on the time of the day how much am I likely to save by only turning on the boiler at certain times during the day?
Put a fitness tracker on your dog to slash insurance bills: Soppy owners and their podgy pets are pushing up the cost of cover
Experts say owners are increasingly treating pets like substitute children, allowing them to gorge on treats such as takeaways, cakes and sweets. Some animals even join families at the table to be fed human food with a fork. An estimated 45 per cent of dogs and 40 per cent of cats are overweight - putting them at greater risk of major illnesses.
Why you're on your own if Christmas gifts get lost in the post: Legal loophole lets shops and banks wriggle out of paying you a refund
Typically, most big stores offer a replacement or refund if goods go missing in the post, arrive damaged or faulty, or fail to match the description the shop gave online. However, you cannot rely on online sellers or smaller stores to help if there is a problem with your order. Money Mail's postbag is filled with a steady stream of letters from customers of these types of firm, whose calls and emails have got them nowhere.

'Decent' broadband speeds are impossible for 1.4m people while 60% of the UK can't access all four mobile phone networks
Five per cent of the country can't get a decent broadband speed of 10Mbit/s while you can only access all four mobile networks in 40 per cent of the country. The speeds available vary considerably across the country with almost 920,000 rural households not being able to receive a decent broadband speed.
Fight back against the ticket touts: Competition watchdog launches fresh probe into ticket re-selling websites
The second-hand ticket market is being probed by the competition watchdog amid concerns that consumer protection laws are being broken. The 'enforcement investigation' by the Competition and Markets Authority will look at seller information, any connections the seller has with the event organisers and whether there are any restrictions on the use of resold tickets which could result in a person being denied access to an event.
UK households given a 'wake-up call' over rip-off energy tariffs as watchdog launches league table comparing deals
Households can now compare the cheapest and most expensive energy tariffs on the market via the sector's watchdog Ofgem. The energy tariff 'league table' lets customers compare the average annual energy bills of households on standard variable tariffs with the biggest suppliers against the ten cheapest ones. Energy Secretary Greg Clark said the comparison table will improve transparency and help the 'millions' of households overpaying for their energy while languishing on expensive standard variable tariffs.
Still no answer Mr Vodafone? 'I've been waiting for a YEAR for Vodafone to settle my complaint, despite all the promises about better service'
Vodafone was recently hit with a record £4.6million fine by Ofcom for serial customer service failings following a sustained campaign by The Mail on Sunday. The fine prompted the company to concede that it had 'let customers down'. Vittorio Colao, group chief executive, confirmed the company was 'working on' fixing its customer service issues which had culminated in inaccurate bills being sent out and complaints being handled poorly.
