Dreams (Arabic: أحلام) is a 2006 Iraqi film directed by Mohamed Al-Daradji. It was Iraq's submission to the 79th Academy Awards for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, but was not accepted as a nominee.
Mohamed Al-Daradji returned to Iraq shortly after the American invasion of Baghdad. There he found heartbreaking chaos and was particularly disturbed with the sight of numerous psychiatric patients wandering on the streets as the hospitals were being destroyed by the bombings. The experience served as the germ for what would be Mohamed's first feature film, Ahlaam. Filmed on location in Baghdad in 2004. "I would like to bring the subject very close to the audience with an artistic point of view" he said.
Dreams are successions of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that occur usually involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. The content and purpose of dreams are not definitively understood, though they have been a topic of scientific speculation, as well as a subject of philosophical and religious interest, throughout recorded history. The scientific study of dreams is called oneirology.
Dreams mainly occur in the rapid-eye movement (REM) stage of sleep—when brain activity is high and resembles that of being awake. REM sleep is revealed by continuous movements of the eyes during sleep. At times, dreams may occur during other stages of sleep. However, these dreams tend to be much less vivid or memorable.
The length of a dream can vary; they may last for a few seconds, or approximately 20–30 minutes. People are more likely to remember the dream if they are awakened during the REM phase. The average person has three to five dreams per night, and some may have up to seven; however, most dreams are immediately or quickly forgotten. Dreams tend to last longer as the night progresses. During a full eight-hour night sleep, most dreams occur in the typical two hours of REM.

Ahlaam was filmed in Iraq during the immediate aftermath of Saddam Hussein's fall and represents the first film made by Iraqis capturing this pivotal moment in their history. Director Mohamed Al-Daradji's film captures the confusion, uncertainty, and death that engulfed Baghdad. Voyeuristically, we move between the past and the present of the lives of the Iraqis caught up in the maelstrom and entangled in the chaos of American Shock and Awe . Ahlaam follows the stories of three characters, searching the bombed-out city for friends, family, sanity, and salvation. Buy the DVD: http://shop.dogwoof.com/products/pre-order-ahlaam

Amazing things that happen to people while dreaming. Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg Description: Sleep is something that we do and need on a regular basis in order for our bodies to function. For most of us that sleep, we tend to experience some sort of dreaming, where our minds take off and we experience another world of existence. Sometimes we have good dreams, and sometimes we have nightmares that can terrify us to the core and force us to sleep with the lights on for the rest of the night. But our dreams are so much more than a nightly occurrence. But instead, they offer glimpses into our very own psyches and tell us so much about our psychology and how we deal with stress, anxiety, and overall feelings of our life. Studies have shown that we experience 4-6 dreams per ...

Ma, I know its been a while, don’t like to hear you sound so weak,
It brings me down, it brings me down
Ma, I’m kinda missing you, must be the weather or hey, might just be may
But Its times like this I know u need me there
Yes its times like this I know I need you here
Pa. I know its been a while my friend advised that I call you, so here we are
I know I’ve been out of touch but you invented that, yes you
Its so good to hear your voice, says my soul
The sacrifice you made, I’m just getting used to
Chrs:
So take me down by the water, lets cleanse souls
This could be a brand new chapter for this book
Mama works from 9 to 8, Papa was used to doing that so now he feels small
I thought a marriage was a bond, maybe the preacher got it wrong, didn’t stress it enough
Maybe it got so tired, that it had to break
Maybe it got so strong, that it broke
Mama, don’t worry, I ‘ll be strong, strong enough for all of us, will that be enough
Wanna go back to those days when it was picture perfect, even if it was only in the picture
