'Much happier' Brad Pitt emerges for solo outing after 'spending more time with his children' amid ugly split from Angelina Jolie

Brad Pitt was pictured on a solo outing in Santa Monica on Wednesday.

The Fury star, 53, was dressed in all black and chatted away on his cell phone.

The actor is said to be in much better spirits in recent weeks after to be spending more time with his children amidst his ugly divorce from Angelina Jolie.

His 'whole world': The Fury star, 53, has been 'much happier' now that he has been able to see his children more often, according to an article published Thursday by People magazine

'He seems to have a more positive outlook,' a source tells People magazine. 'Things seem much better now [that] he can spend more time with them.'

The Oscar winner has been willing to work with his estranged wife in the hope it will make the split easier on their children - Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and eight-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. 

'Brad is willing to work with Angie so they can have peace for the kids,' the insider said. 'What it ultimately comes down to is that he just wants to be with the kids.

'He seems much happier. He has missed his kids terribly. The kids are his whole world. It's all he cares about.'  

Despite this positive development for the Allied star, investigative journalist and filmmaker Ian Halperin, 52, has recently revealed Brangelina's relationship will be the subject of his upcoming documentary, as reported by The Sun.

Revelations expected to come out in the film include the best-selling author's claim that the Hollywood duo were estranged for more than a year before their split in September 2016. 

This comes after the intensely private Brad and Angelina, 41, agreed to resolve their divorce and custody dispute outside of the public eye.

They announced in a joint statement, released January 9: 

'The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues. The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification.'

Brad is thought to have moved back into the family home at their Los Feliz estate after neighbors confirmed they had seen him 'there most days.'

'Brad wants to prove to the courts that he's putting the children's welfare first,' a source added.

'Obviously the family circumstances have changed dramatically, but he wants [his children] to feel at home there. He's doing everything he can to try and fight or his kids.'
