A 600lb mother who struggles with addition is left brokenhearted after her troubled teenage son is forced to move away because he is derailing the progress of her diet.

On Wednesday night's episode of the TLC reality series My 600lb Life, Kirsten Perez, 38, begins her weight loss journey by moving to Houston, Texas, in the hopes of qualifying for gastric bypass surgery. However, her son Neiko's resentment for her is so strong, it is decided that he needs to move back to Washington to live with his grandfather. 

'Part of me is sad that he is leaving, but part of me is relieved that he is going because I can't put up with much more of him,' Kirsten explains in a preview clip for the episode.

Big changes: The 38-year-old, who struggles with addiction, moves to Houston, Texas, in the hopes of getting weight loss surgery

Growing up, Kirsten was a true wild child who fled her parents home in Longview, Washington, as a young teen. 

After she left home, she was introduced to a life of drugs and partying and became pregnant twice after dealing with a series of traumas. 

Knowing that she was unable to raise her children on her own, Kirsten gave her parents custody of them before she returned to the streets, where her weight spiraled out of control. 

Past struggles: Kirsten fled her parents home in Longview, Washington, when she was a young teen, and she was introduced to a life of drugs and alcohol 

When she finally hit rock bottom at 600lbs, Kirsten reached out to her parents for help, and she made the decision to move to Houston to get weight loss surgery and finally get her life under control. 

However, her son Neiko is so angry with her that she is finding it difficult to focus on her weight loss. 

In the preview clip, Neiko is seen ignoring his grandmother, who is trying to get him out of bed on the day that he is scheduled to move back to Washington. 

Resentment: Kirsten had her mom (pictured) and dad raise her son Neiko, and he is angry that he had to move to Houston with his mom  

Backlash: Neiko insists that his attitude has to do with the fact that he was forced to move against his will, and he says he will fine when he returns to Washington 

'Who wants to get up at 5am?' he yells, and she reminds him that they need to get his bags packed before he goes.  

'Neiko is leaving today to go back to Washington. For everybody's sanity here, not just mine, it's time that Neiko goes back,' Kristen tells the cameras. 

Kirsten's son is angrily cursing while he complains that he had just packed his stuff to move the first time. 

Can't take it anymore: Kirsten can be seen leaving the room after she and Neiko get into an argument about his attitude 

Moving on: 'I have been ready to move out since the first day that we got here,' Neiko says before he leaves 

His mom warns him that his grandfather isn't going to put up with his 'attitude' and his 'problems'.   

'Well, no s**t,' he mouths back. 'The only reason I act like that was because I didn't want to be down here.' 

Kirsten immediately fires back that he acted the same way when they were living in Washington, and the arguing continues.  

Strained relationship: Neiko says his mom feels more like a sibling that he fights with than a parent 

Tough times: Kirsten breaks down in tears after her son leaves, although she believes it is for the best 

'I don't feel like my mom is able to be a mom to me. It's more like a sibling like we just fight back and forth back and forth all day,' Neiko tells the cameras.  

'I can't take one more second,' he adds. 'I have been ready to move out since the first day that we got here.'

After he leaves, Kirsten is left sobbing on her bed as she admits she is torn about him moving back to Washington.

'My priority is getting healthy and losing the weight and it's really hard to do when he stresses me out. I have enough stress as it is,' she explains.
