It's been a week of firsts for President Trump, and Thursday was no different. Today, the mogul-turned-politician took his first trip on Marine One and Air Force One as the 45th President of the United States. Mr Trump took the presidential helicopter to Joint Base Andrews, to ride Air Force One less than 150 miles up the beltway to the GOP's annual policy retreat in Philadelphia. As he ascended the stairs up into the aircraft for the first time, Mr Trump was clearly focused on the business ahead - not even stopping to turn around and wave as is usual for a departing president.

Trump says Mexican wall will be paid through import tax

The White House suggested a way it could make Mexico pay for the president's border wall on Thursday: a 20 percent on imports. American consumers buy nearly $61 billion more in goods a year from Mexico than it does the U.S., creating a massive trade deficit. 'If you tax that $50 billion at 20 percent of imports, which is by the way a practice that 160 other countries do....We can do $10 billion a year and easily pay for the wall just through that mechanism alone,' said White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. He said, 'That's really going to provide the funding.'

President Trump told Sean Hannity that he would be OK if the GOP Senate leader invoked the nuclear option, in order to get his forthcoming SCOTUS pick through the Senate.

Speaking to senior US politicians, she laid out a new set of rules which will see the UK intervene only when the 'threat is real' and it is in our own interests. The comments effectively bring an end to what have been dubbed 'wars of choice' and the so-called 'Chicago doctrine' established by Tony Blair.
