In this week's red carpet roundup, Miranda Kerr is back with a bang, Sienna Miller makes us smile and even Kylie Jenner can't pull off a purple mess. By Nyree McFarlane.

Miranda Kerr is back, people. She used to be in this list at least monthly, but I haven't spied her sashaying down the carpet in a while. Well what a return to splendour. Stripy purple sequins with a deflated turtle neck - this Nina Ricci dress is like fashion Sudoku, easy for some, impossible for others, but Diane Kruger definitely falls into the former camp. The lovely Kristen Bell looks like a retro mermaid in this Maria Lucia Hohan tangerine and rose, tin-foil-adjacent gown. It's got a full-on train, and a lot of texture and colour going on, but she's owning it. It's like Ariel has stumbled into Studio 54, and she's the talk of the disco. Photo: Getty
I'd give the diamond necklace a pass (said no woman ever), but no seriously, I don't like it here, but apart from that tiny yet wildly expensive detail, Naomie Harris looks stone cold in Armani Prive. It's very Barbie in cut, but very Angie in colour. From the big skirt to the spiral, it's not exactly to my taste dress-wise, but sometimes you've just got to step aside from your subjectivity and acknowledge when a woman looks amazing. Slow clap. The top half looks like the bib of a carnival amusement clown that's been upcycled into a lampshade, but I still love this Gucci dress - such is the power of Sienna Miller (and a red lip). It's swishy, fun, different and delightful. It's a crazy mash-up between Wild-Wild-West, Great Gatsby and Cleopatra, and because of that eccentricity it's just put a huge smile on my face. Kylie Jenner has stuck hundreds of deflated balloons to her person and then run into the purple people eater. The skirt part of this is the opposite of chaps, I never thought I'd see that become a thing. The from-behind view is confusing me, is the below-the-bum part of the skirt actually connected to the weird nude tights she's wearing? Are we bored by shoulder capes so are now trying to make bum sheaths a thing? Here's Hailee Steinfeld rocking the fanciest iteration of 'jumper wrapped around waist' that I've ever seen. I'm stressed out about how much of that ice blue silk is trailing on the floor (imagine how many germs you'd sweep up when you hit the loo). I adore Kathryn Hahn and I LOVE a lady suit on the red carpet (Evan Rachel Wood won the Globes), but I'm not a fan of a pant puddle. General high street stores now offer complimentary trou' turn up services for us general plebs, so I imagine Kathryn would have been able to easily arrange one. I like to think she had heels on, so the puddle was less prominent, but then decided en route, 'nah, can’t be bothered having feet pain, because TBH, I'd rather be at home than at this contractually-obliged red carpet' and so just whipped her shoes off and strolled down barefoot. I'm becoming increasingly convinced that Lady Victoria Hervey is trolling us with her worst-dressed-proclivities, and this homespun Elvis pantsuit is true to form. What's going on with the creeper black veins overtaking the polyester? Who knows… One thing's for sure, you would certainly have to be rock solid confident that Aunt Flo wasn’t coming to town when taking this for a spin. Photo: Getty
