I gave in and agreed to share my office space as the guest room. We don't have visitors that often so two to three weeks a year without my office shouldn't be that bad. The Murphy bed is a great way to save space. So this will work out perfect. I'll eventually have to build my office area in the closet, this will just make things more convenient for me. All I would have to do is close the door. This will be done in a future video

Murphy bed
A Murphy bed (in North America), also called a wall bed, pull down bed or fold-down bed is a bed that is hinged at one end to store vertically against the wall, or inside of a closet or cabinet.
History
The bed is named for William Lawrence Murphy (1876–1959), who applied for his first patents around 1900. According to legend, he was wooing an opera singer, but living in a one-room apartment in San Francisco, and the moral code of the time frowned upon a woman entering a man's bedroom. Murphy's invention converted his bedroom into a parlor, enabling him to entertain. Earlier foldup beds had existed, and were even available through the Sears, Roebuck & Co. catalog, but Murphy introduced pivot and counterbalanced designs for which he received a series of patents, including one for a "Disappearing Bed" on June 18, 1912 and another for a "Design for a Bed" on June 27, 1916.
Murphy beds are used for space-saving purposes, much like trundle beds, and are popular where floor space is limited, such as small homes, apartments, hotels, mobile homes and college dormitories. In recent years, Murphy bed units have included options such as lighting, storage cabinets, and office components. They have seen a resurgence in popularity in the early 2010s due to the weak economy, with children moving back in with their parents and families choosing to renovate homes rather than purchasing larger ones.

The Home Depot

When Donnie Wang bought his 530-square-foot studio apartment in San Francisco’s Financial District, he was single. When his now wife, Nicole Chiu-Wang, moved in, he needed to stretch his bachelor pad to cover dinner parties, overnight guests, work from home (at times, for two) and his stylist wife’s large wardrobe. He called on his friend, architect Peter Suen, who pulled in his friend, designer Charles Irby, who began to design a kind of lean-to for grownups for his living room. He called on his friend, architect Peter Suen, who pulled in his friend, designer Charles Irby, who began to design a kind of lean-to for grownups for his living room. They prefabbed a morphing wood and cement cube in Irby’s Oakland design studio ICOSA (he CNC’ed the formwork) outfitted with a loft bed, murphy bed, standing desk, closets and lots and lots of storage.
The wood-and-cement loft now serves as the couple’s bedroom (the lofted bed), guest room (the murphy bed), dining room, office for Peter (with large whiteboard on underside of murphy bed) and multimedia room (the loft also serves as seating for their ceiling-mounted projector).
“San Francisco’s kind of a funny place,” explains Suen. “In the rest of the country they might be in their legitimate starter home, but in San Francisco you’ve just got to deal with just, you know, ‘San Francisco’. So they really maximized what you would think is a small place, but it’s really now super customized just for them.”
