With the tropical climate of Malaysia, the weather in Pahang is hot and humid throughout the year. Generally, temperatures can range between 21 to 33˚C. The population of Pahang consists of Malay, Chinese, Indians and Orang Asli. Popular traditional handicraft items in Pahang are songket and batik. This state is also known for its weaving industry which produces beautiful silk cloths. Gamelan Pahang is a form of Malay classical music originating from this state. The fishing industry produces dried fish and seafood, one of which is the famed keropok lekor. Traditional local dishes include nasi dagang, bubur lambuk, puding raja and nasi kebuli.
