You’d be forgiven for thinking that Veronica Hart was a natural candidate for show business stardom.
She was born and raised in Las Vegas, and had a natural talent for acting and dancing.
But she was smart and adventurous too, and after graduating college in record quick time, she headed over to Europe where she settled in England. It was the time of Bowie and glam rock – and she wanted to be part of the music scene there.
So she managed a prog rock band, danced in shows, and did some modeling, before suffering a life-changing accident that threatened her growing performing career.
So what happened next, and how did she end up in New York where she became a stripper and live sex show performer in Times Square, before becoming one of the biggest stars in adult film of the early 1980s?
And how did she then go on to be one of the most successful female adult film directors of all time, and still finding time to act in mainstream films like Boogie Nights along the way?
Not a bad career for a woman who defines herself first and foremost as a mother.

Veronica Hart
Jane Esther Hamilton (born October 27, 1956) is an American former pornographic film actress and current pornographic film director who performed under the stage name Veronica Hart during the 1980s. She is sometimes credited as Jane Hamilton, V. Hart, Veronica Heart, Victoria Holt, Randee Styles or just Veronica. Hart is a member of the AVN Hall of Fame. Director Paul Thomas Anderson has called her "the Meryl Streep of porn."
Early life
Hart was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. She graduated from High School at age 16 and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas at age 19 with a degree in Theatrical Arts.
Career
Hart appeared in pornographic films from 1980 until 1982 and is best known for her performances in Amanda by Night, Wanda Whips Wall Street, Roommates and A Scent of Heather. Around 1984, she began directing segments on the Playboy TV series Electric Blue, appearing in B-Movies and working as a stripper. In the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s she directs, edits, and produces pornographic films, while making occasional (non-sexual) cameos in both mainstream and adult productions.

Ronald Jeremy Hyatt (born March 12, 1953), known by the stage name Ron Jeremy, is an American pornographic actor and filmmaker. Nicknamed "The Hedgehog", he was ranked by AVN at #1 in their "50 Top Porn Stars of All Time" list. Jeremy has also appeared in non-pornographic films, including The Chase, Orgazmo, They Bite, The Boondock Saints, Crank: High Voltage, Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, Detroit Rock City and 54. Early life
Ronald Jeremy Hyatt was born in Queens, New York, to a middle-class Jewish family. His father, Arnold, was a physicist and his mother a book editor who served in the O.S.S. during World War II, as she spoke fluent German and French.
Jeremy attended Cardozo High School in Bayside, Queens, where former CIA director George Tenet and actor Reginald VelJohnson were his classmates. Jeremy earned a bachelor's degree in education and theatre and a master's degree in special education from Queens College in New York. He taught special-education classes in the New York City area and was a substitute teacher for regular classes.

Kelly Nichols
Kelly Nichols (born June 8, 1956 in Covina, California) is a former pornographic actress.
She starred in over 50 adult features, and has been presented with several industry awards of merit: the Adult Film Association of America Best Actress Award by the for her work in the film In Love (1983); in 1993, she was presented by the Free Speech Coalition the Life Time Achievement Award; and she was inducted into the Erotic Legends Hall of Fame in 1996 and into the XRCO Hall of Fame in 1999. Nichols worked as a make-up artist on adult films during the 1990s and 2000s.

Things go truly awry when society member Lavinia Hall, a fragile, studious girl, commits suicide. As a result of this death, Emily Gehring retracts her confession, claiming she lied. These ambiguities leave the adults of the town in a quandary, leading them to fiercely debate what it is that the girls are doing in the middle of the night--what it is that exacts such loyalty from their daughters. You’d be forgiven for thinking that Veronica Hart was a natural candidate for show business stardom.
She was born and raised in Las Vegas, and had a natural talent for acting and dancing.
But she was smart and adventurous too, and after graduating college in record quick time, she headed over to Europe where she settled in England. It was the time of Bowie and glam rock – and she wanted to be part of the music scene there.
So she managed a prog rock band, danced in shows, and did some modeling, before suffering a life-changing accident that threatened her growing performing career.
So what happened next, and how did she end up in New York where she became a stripper and live sex show performer in Times Square, before becoming one of the biggest stars in adult film of the early 1980s?
And how did she then go on to be one of the most successful female adult film directors of all time, and still finding time to act in mainstream films like Boogie Nights along the way?
Not a bad career for a woman who defines herself first and foremost as a mother.
