It was a tough 2016 for TV doyenne Kerri-Anne Kennerley and her husband.

But now, 10-months after a fall that left him fighting for his life, John Kennerley was all smiles as he watched his wife's return to live TV for Australia Day.

The 63-year-old beauty co-hosted the Network Ten concert in Sydney alongside Grant Denyer but beamed the most for the camera while posing alongside John.

Sharing an image to Instagram on Thursday from the Sydney Opera House, where the show was taking place, Kerri-Anne told fans: 'Australia Day with my one and only'.

'Thank you for being by my side always,' she said paying tribute to her husband of 32 years. 

Taking the opportunity to add a little plug, Kerri-Anne added: 'I hope everyone is tuning into channel 10 for this fabulous event'.

The couple appeared to be together in the VIP area, where the blonde presenter was crossing from throughout the show.

Dressed in a stunning white cut-out shoulder full-length gown, Kerri-Anne was a picture of elegance with her shoulder length lock swept into an chic up-do.

The 76-year-old returned home from hospital just in time for Christmas, making it his first time at home since March.

At the time the TV personality shared her joy with fans on social media, sharing a snap of his homecoming, surrounded by friends in their Woollahra home.

'John's home. This is the day I've hoping and waiting waiting for since March 6th Thank you to each and everyone one of you. Forever thankful,' Kerri-Anne captioned the photo. 

Gathered around John's wheelchair, the group appeared to be sharing a toast as their friends raised a glass to his return, while Kerri-Anne hugged her husband.

The 76-year-old had been in Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital since breaking his neck in a fall while at an event in Coffs Harbour in March.  

While doctors admitted he was lucky to be alive, Kerri-Anne admitted in an interview last year, she's struggled to come to terms with her husband's injuries. 

'I hate this new life to be quite frank. I just hate it. It's awful,' she recently revealed to Channel Seven's Sunday Night.
