Three generations: Sir Richard Branson shares heartwarming picture of his son Sam and newborn grandson Bluey

He became a grandfather again earlier this month.

And Sir Richard Branson proudly shared a snapshot of new arrival Bluey on social media, making hearts melt with the adorable picture of three generations of his family.

The 66-year-old business mogul posted a picture of himself hugging his son Sam, who in turn cradles the slumbering infant.

Branson simply captioned the post: 'With my son @bransonsam and grandson Bluey'.

The star's fans enthused, 'Beautiful photo' and 'This melts my heart' as they offered the new grandfather messages of congratulations.

Sam and his wife Isabella welcomed their second child last on Wednesday.

The happy news also contained an element of surprise, as the parents decided not to find out the baby’s gender in advance.

‘We don’t want to know until the birth because there aren’t many moments left in life that are a complete surprise,’ Sam told the Daily Mail's Sebastian Shakespeare.

Branson announced the good news by sharing a sweet snapshot of Sam, 31, cosying up to Isabella, 36, and Bluey.

The accompanying message read: ‘I am so incredibly proud and honoured to introduce our beautiful baby boy.

‘He is such a gentle and strong little soul! Having children is the most awe-inspiring and humbling experience!’

Richard previously shared his impressions about being a grandfather in his Virgin blog - just after his daughter Holly welcomed twins and his son Sam had his first child - all within three weeks of each other.

The mogul wrote: 'I’ve worn many different hats in my life, from entrepreneur to adventurer, but family man is by far my favourite.

'While I’m incredibly proud of the Virgin businesses we’ve built, I’m most fulfilled in my role as a husband, father and now grandfather.'t family man is by far my favourite.
