A fast-moving and unpredictable bushfire is threatening lives and homes in Julimar in the Shire of Toodyay on Thursday.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has issued a watch and act alert for people between Bindoon-Dewars Road and Julimar Road, and in the vicinity of the western boundary of Julimar state forest.
People need to leave or get ready to actively defend their property, DFES said.
The fire, which started near the intersection of Cooks Road and Northern Boundary road, is fast moving towards the Julimar state forest. Conditions are changing and aerial support has been called in to support firefighters.
Roads in the area have been closed.
The cause of the fire is yet unknown.
