Although Hillary Clinton has been keeping a low profile since her lost fight for the White House, it seems she plans to return to the limelight in 2017.

A source close to Hillary Clinton has reportedly told New York Times best selling author Ed Klein  that Clinton informed a group of her close confidants of her plans to return to the public eye as the host of her own talk show.

Clinton gets standing ovation at Broadway appearance

RAW VISION: Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton was warmly greeted with a standing ovation as she and her husband entered the Jacobs Theatre Sunday evening in New York.

The show would have a political focus and prospectively pave the way for Clinton's next presidential bid in 2020.

Clinton apparently introduced the idea to her circle of friends at a dinner at Whitehaven, her home in Washington DC, beginning the announcement with the classic Arnold Schwarzenegger line: "I'll be back."

"As a TV host, she'd discuss the issues of the day from a progressive point of view, have top guests, interview world leaders and progressive thinkers" said the source close to Clinton.

Clinton believes that the show would achieve tremendous success given the current political climate, according to Klein's blog. She hopes that a TV show would capitalise on and galvanise the dynamic, potent hostility towards President Trump which exists in the Democratic community.

"She thinks being the host of a popular TV show would energise the Democratic Party base and her tens of millions of fans. It's a way to make a comeback and position herself for another run at the White House starting in a year or so," the source is quoted as saying.

Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres are testament to the political power and influence that can be wielded by a talk show host, and some are already suggesting names for the show on Twitter.
