“Dün yaşadığım ülkede tanklarla toplarla bombalanıp yakılan yıkılan kentler, öldürülen yüzlerce insan, yaralanan ve evsiz kalan binlerce yaşlı, genç, çocuk, kadın ve erkek için göz yaşları dinmemiş, öfke yatışmamışken; tüm bunların failleri kahramanlar olarak gösterilip madalya verildiği görüntüler hafızamızda canlıyken; kentleri yakıp yıkan, insanları öldüren tank ve uçaklar 15 Temmuz’da Ankara ve İstanbul’u hedef aldığında, dünün kahraman failleri bir gecede hain ilan edildi. Binlerce insan hapishanelere dolduruldu, on binlercesinin görevlerine son verildi.

Yesterday, at a time when the tears have not dried and the rage is not settled yet for the cities burned down to rubble with tanks and bombing, hundreds of people killed, thousands of old, young, child, women and men wounded and unhoused; the images of the perpetrators taking medals are alive in our memories; when the tanks and planes which burned down the cities and killed the people targeted Ankara and Istanbul on July 15, yesterdays heros were declared traitors overnight. Thousands of people were stuffed into prisons, tens of thousands lost their jobs.

An investigation was started by Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's office about our newspaper related to articles "Both Arrival and Departure of State is From Fear", "Banned Until Further Order", and "Recreating Life" in the 30. issue of our newspaper published on December 2015 with the caption "Banning Everything". İstanbul ve Ankara merkezli gerçekleşen askeri hareketlilikte pek çok devlet binası bir süreliğine bloke edildi. Ankara’da savaş uçaklarının havalanması ve İstanbul’da köprülerin askerler tarafından trafiğe kapatılmasıyla başlayan darbe, Genelkurmay Başkanı’nın rehin alınması, sokaklarda tank ve silah seslerinin yükselmesiyle devam etti. MİT Müsteşarlığı binasından TBMM’ye birçok devlet binası F16’lar ve helikopterlerle vuruldu; pek çok yerde asker ve polis arasında silahlı çatışmalar yaşandı. Bu gelişmeleri izleyen süreçte devlet televizyonunun yayını kesilerek canlı yayında “Yurtta Sulh Konseyi” imzası taşıyan darbe bildirisi okundu. “5 saatlik darbe” sona erdiğinde yüz üzerinde asker, 80 üzerinde polis ve 80 üzerinde darbe karşıtı protestocu öldü. The coup, which has been an inevitable reality of the state presence in this geography since the military coup of 1980, arose after 36 years, on the night of July 15. Many state buildings were blocked for a few hours during the military mobilisation based in Istanbul and Ankara. The coup started with flypast of fighter jets in Ankara and blocking of bridges in Istanbul by soldiers, and continued with taking hostage of chief of general staff and tank noise and gun shots in the streets. Many state buildings were shot by F16s and helicopters including the parliament building and the headquarters of National Intelligence Organisation; There were clash of arms in many places between soldiers and police. Following the events, national state television broadcast was cut and the coup declaration signed 'Peace at Home Council'' was read. When the ''5 Hour Coup'' ended, more than one hundred soldiers, more than eighty police officers and more than eighty anti-coup protesters died. 2839 soldiers, among them many high ranked ones, were taken into custody. read full story / add a comment
