As a refugee myself, Trump’s appropriation of my work appalls me. 

Like many refugees, I have worked my whole life to build a life for myself in my new home. 

Photography is my passion, a way for me to be creative and express my point of view to the world.

 The Trump campaign took my photograph, an innocent picture of a bowl of candy, and used it for a polemic attack on people they have never met. 

People they don’t care to learn about. 

People just like me. 

Perhaps the Trumps simply do not care about the suffering of people other than white Americans, as these people do not contribute to the Trump organization’s balance sheets.

BREAKING: A judge in Hawaii just blocked Donald Trump’s updated Muslim ban

  • On Wednesday, a federal judge in Hawaii granted a motion for a temporary restraining order blocking President Donald Trump’s revamped ban on travelers from six majority-Muslim countries.
  • The case in Hawaii was brought by a Honolulu imam named Ismail Elshikh, who said the ban prevents his mother-in-law from traveling to Hawaii from her native Syria to visit his family.The ban was set to go into effect at 12:01 a.m. Eastern on Thursday.

Update: A second judge has blocked Trump’s new Muslim ban

  • A second federal judge has issued a decision that blocks Trump’s revised immigration order, CNN reported on Thursday.
  • This second ruling is from a federal judge in Maryland and comes on the heels of a federal judge in Hawaii granting a temporary restraining order to block the ban just hours before it was set to go into effect.
  • In issuing his ruling on Wednesday, U.S. District Court Judge Derrick Watson said that Trump’s order likely violates First Amendment protections. Read more (3/16/17 7:23 AM)

  • Trump was hours late to a rally in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday evening in part because staffers made a frantic attempt to improve his mood following a judge ruling against hhis revised travel ban. (Politico)
  • Trump, who was roughly two hours behind schedule to speak at the rally, delivered remarks written “last minute,” White House source told Politico. 
  • Trump’s delay was partially due to his poor mood upon hearing the news, which they attempted to address by showing him favorable cable news coverage. Read more (3/15/17 11 PM)

Ivanka Trump surprised by “viciousness” against her father

  • In an interview Monday with Fox and Friends, Ivanka Trump — daughter and assistant to President Donald Trump — said she was surprised by the “viciousness” and “ferocity” that greeted her father’s presidency.
  • “There’s a level of viciousness that I was not expecting,” Ivanka said. “I was not expecting the intensity of this experience.”
  • Perhaps the viciousness of her father’s own presidential campaign could have tipped her off. 
  • That the possibility even existed — in Ivanka’s mind — of Trump running the cruel and bigoted operation he did and somehow eluding negative backlash is willfully ignorant, at best, and delusional, at worst. Read more (Opinion)

Trump reportedly close to settling Trump University lawsuit

President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly nearing a settlement deal in the ongoing fraud cases against his failed for-profit Trump University. Former students testified to having paid up to $35,000 in some instances in the hopes of learning Trump’s real estate “secrets” from “hand-picked” instructors. But according to the 2013 civil lawsuit, not only was the university not accredited in New York, neither its seminars nor its professors were actually vetted by Trump himself. The billionaire businessman will reportedly pay out a massive sum.

Salacious report claims Trump received intel from Russia on enemies, ‘golden shower’ show

  • On Tuesday, CNN reported U.S. intelligence officials presented President Obama and President-elect Trump with a two-page dossier containing evidence the Russian government claims it obtained compromising information on Trump as part of an wide-ranging operation to throw the Nov. 8 presidential elections against Hillary Clinton.
  • While CNN did not report the nature of the information Russia allegedly has on the president-elect, BuzzFeed News has posted what it says is a copy of the report the two-page dossier is based on, listing “specific, unverified and potentially unverifiable allegations of contact between Trump aides and Russian operatives, and graphic claims of sexual acts documented by the Russians.”
  • The full 35 page report states Russian intelligence assets have been “cultivating, supporting and assisting Trump for at least five years” with the aim of encouraging “splits and divisions in western alliance.”
  • According to the assessment, multiple sources have confirmed Trump accepted Russian intelligence on his political enemies — and those same intelligence sources have obtained a video of Trump in a Moscow hotel room with prostitutes performing a “golden showers (urination) show in front of him.”
  • The act was allegedly performed on a bed Obama and his wife, first lady Michelle Obama, had previously slept on. READ MORE
  • Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen says the salacious intelligence dossier is nothing more than “fake news.”
  • “Somebody is having a lot of fun at your expense,” Michael Cohen, special counsel to Trump, laughingly told Mic in a phone interview Tuesday night.
  • “It’s so ridiculous on so many levels. Clearly the person who created this did so from their imagination or did so hoping that the liberal media would run with this fake story for whatever rationale they might have.” Read more

Another anti-Trump protester assaulted at a rally

Tensions flared at yet another Donald Trump rally on Monday, as a supporter of the candidate assaulted a protester at a rally in Albany, New York. Speaking to NBC News after the incident, the assailant identified himself as “Mike” and confirmed that “hell, yeah,” he is a Trump supporter. He also explained why he lunged at the protester.
