Elle Fanning

Mary Elle Fanning (born April 9, 1998) is an American teen actress. She is the younger sister of actress Dakota Fanning and mainly known for her starring roles in Phoebe in Wonderland, Somewhere, We Bought a Zoo, and as Aurora in 2014's Maleficent. In 2011, Fanning starred in her breakout role as Alice Dainard in J. J. Abrams' sci-fi-drama blockbuster, Super 8. For this role she received overwhelming critical acclaim and was often cited as one of the film's best aspects. She received nominations for a Saturn Award, a Young Artist Award, a Broadcast Film Critics Association Award, a Teen Choice Award, a Scream Award, an MTV Movie Award, and more including a special Spotlight Award at the Hollywood Film Festival.

Early life

Fanning was born in Conyers, Georgia on April 9, 1998, the daughter of Heather Joy (née Arrington), who played tennis professionally, and Steven J. Fanning, who played minor league baseball for teams affiliated with the St. Louis Cardinals and now works as an electronics salesman in Los Angeles. Her maternal grandfather is American football player Rick Arrington, and her aunt is ESPN reporter Jill Arrington. Fanning is the younger sister of Dakota Fanning, who is also an actress. She has Irish, German, English, and French ancestry. Fanning and her family are members of the Southern Baptist Convention. She has been quoted as saying "We're just normal sisters. We both go to school and we just play together." Fanning currently attends Campbell Hall School in North Hollywood, Los Angeles, which was also attended by child actresses Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen.

She is best known for appearing in Lifetime's reality show Dance Moms and for starring in three music videos by Sia, "Chandelier", "Elastic Heart" and "Big Girls Cry", which cumulatively have attracted more than 1.7 billion views on YouTube. Ziegler has also guest-starred on scripted shows and danced on various TV shows, and she has been seen on magazine covers and in feature articles. She has modeled for Capezio, Ralph Lauren and Target, among other brands. Ziegler was named by Time magazine as one of the "30 most influential teens of 2015". She is expected to make her feature film debut in 2016 in The Book of Henry.

Early life

Ziegler was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Melissa Ziegler-Gisoni and Kurt Ziegler, who owned a mortgage company. She is of Polish, German and Italian descent. Her parents divorced in 2011, citing the financial and emotional toll that dance took on the family. She has been an active member of the Abby Lee Dance Company since the age of two. She trains in tap, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, acro, jazz, and aerial dance. Maddie Ziegler has a younger sister, Mackenzie (b. June 4, 2004), who appears with her on Dance Moms, two older half-brothers from her father's previous marriage, and two older step-siblings from the previous marriage of her step-father, Greg Gisoni, a vice-president at Westinghouse Electric Company.

He is known for playing Jesse on the HBO series In Treatment, and for his roles in the films Chronicle (2012), The Place Beyond the Pines (2013), Kill Your Darlings (2013), The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) and Life (2015).

Early life

DeHaan was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania. His father, Jeff, is a computer programmer, and his mother, Cynthia Boscia, is an executive at Knoll Furniture. He has an older sister, Meghann, and had what the New York Times Magazine has described as a "very normal, super-supportive childhood". He attended Emmaus High School in Emmaus, Pennsylvania, for three years and appeared in community theater. He switched to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts for his senior year of high school, where he was "around artists for the first time." He continued at UNCSA for undergraduate studies, graduating in 2008.

He has Dutch, German, Italian, English, and smaller amounts of Welsh and Scots-Irish, ancestry. His surname is Dutch ("De Haan" or "de Haan" means "The Rooster" in Dutch).
