When racing car champion Will Davison isn’t tearing up the track, he’s enjoying a change of pace at this peaceful coastal retreat.

The V8 driver has listed 261 The Esplanade in Torquay, opposite the beach.

Davison – the 2016 Bathurst 1000 winner – has appointed agent Ian Lawless, of Great Ocean Properties, who is taking offers by February 17.

The sleek, modern Surf Coast retreat was shortlisted in the Victorian Architecture Awards, from the portfolio of Wolveridge Architects.

The designers selected timber and concrete in harmony with its windswept, beachside location, creating an understated but luxuriously striking holiday or family home, south-west of Melbourne, past Geelong.

Although close to the famous Bells Beach, it would be hard to go past the 13-metre pool, which creates a shimmering showpiece off the open-plan living and kitchen.

Wealth advisory founder Robert Lipman and his wife Sue are set to join the east’s downsizer crowd, prompting an early start to this year’s selling action, with the couple to sell their Turramurra home.

Lipman established the wealth advisory arm of Investec Bank, and acquired the business in 2011 with Paul Burgon, which expanded to become Lipman Burgon & Partners two years ago.

In 2014 the couple bought their master-built Turramurra home new for $2.95 million from Nichola Stanford-Newell, wife of new home developer Mark Newell.

The five-bedroom residence with a swimming pool goes to auction on February 18 with expectations of more than $4 million through Mark Blake, of Luschwitz Real Estate (domain.com.au/2013313855).

At that level it will top the street record of $3.72 million set last year when another Newell Home residence sold to Christine Hely, wife of gaming technology executive Andrew Hely.

Construction industry figure and property investor Murray Kahler is selling his spectacular Noosa Heads home for $6.25 million.

Kahler and his wife Sandreine, are the master franchisees of G.J. Gardner Homes in Queensland.

In 2008, they built their spectacular beach property, which has one of the most prestigious and tightly held  addresses in Noosa.

With 1000 square metres of floor space over three luxurious levels, the Kahlers’ home is a free-flowing space that manages to epitomise the perfect indoor-outdoor Noosa lifestyle.

An avid motorcycle and car collector, Kahler built the home with a 340-square-metre garage with parking for up to 12 cars.

Marketing agent Milan Markanovic, of Tom Offermann Real Estate, says he expects strong interest in the house over summer.
