Father charged over fatal jet-ski crash in Queensland outback

A father has been charged with causing the death of his nine-year-old son in a jet ski crash at a lake in outback Queensland.

The 34-year-old was riding the ski with his six-year-old son on November 19 when it crashed into his older son.

The boy's body was found by police the next morning.  

The body of Tobi Parkes was found by police divers the following morning.

The man and the younger boy were treated in hospital at the time for suspected head, spinal and leg injuries.

The man is due to face Mount Isa Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death, drug driving and operating a ship while unlicensed and not registered.
