‘A map to access the brain’ : Text by anarchist comrade Luca ‘Billy’ Bernasconi (Italy)

Saturday, April 9th, 2016

VERSION ES

The Human Brain Project (HBP) began in 2013; it is a research project with an ultimate goal to be achieved within the next 8 years: to create IT simulation of the functioning of the human brain. A massive project made possible only by the billion euros financing granted by the European Commission in the context of the programme ‘FET- Future and Emerging Technologies’.

Techno-sciences as an investment

The programme represents a sort of ‘New Deal’ for the new millennium: to advance scientific convergence in futuristic, therefore risky from an economic point of view, fields in order to come out with even more technological applications that can produce profits in both a social (that is to say control over society) and economic context.

The projects competing for this massive financing were six, one more fearsome than the other. They all had in common a techno-scientific convergence intended to develop new ‘revolutionary’ technological applications in the dystopia in which we are living. For example, the objective of one of the competing projects was to reconstruct all the biological processes of the human body virtually, so as to create a universally standardized model of a patient, which could be personalized by simply changing its anatomic, physiological and genetic characteristics1. In this issue: in Italian language:
– Starting again from Nature
– The struggle against technology: a few thoughts
– Transplants: tears of those who receive and those who give or sell
– Post-human anti-specist crossing
– Fastidious Xylella, unbearable State – Chronology of a false emergency and considerations on the subject

– A letter to the Expo 2015 catering – Analysis of a counterproductive action
– Solidarity and complicity, on nocivities and the need to oppose them – Notes on the attempted attack on IBM in Switzerland by Silvia Billy Costa and their trial in Italy

EDITORIAL:
What does starting again from Nature mean? Has it been abandoned?

We’re certainly losing interest in it precisely when it deserves all our attention, commitment and energy.
Hearing the urgency for green spaces, environmental dangers, more ecological catastrophes to come, yet another rare and ‘photogenic’ species at risk of extinction… being shouted out by the media every day, our capacity for empathy towards what is less and less around us or under our feet, the Earth, has become saturated.

The daily description of the ongoing ecocide is lost among many other likewise serious events such as war; in this inextricable tangle of cause and effect, one puts up with the impotence in thinking about the future and understanding the present, so much so that certain milieus now incapable of looking beyond have come to the point of even supporting misanthropic theories about human extinction. Comunicado de Sabotaje a Laboratorios de Biotecnologìa : 28-10-2014 (Chile)

Monday, November 3rd, 2014

Attempted Molotov attacks against vehicles of techno-industrial company Bayer AG (Germany)

Sunday, October 5th, 2014

Translated from linksunten.indymedia.org by anarchist comrade Marco Camenisch. Translated from Italian by act for freedom now.

In the night between 26th and 27th July 2014 we tossed molotov bottles at several ‘Bayer AG’ vehicles – and with this action we started off our Tendency of Eco Struggle.

Poisoning and exploiting

During the first world war ‘Friedr. Bayer & Co’ (which later became ‘Bayer AG’) produced explosives and chemicals for war purposes. Their troubles in getting supplies were not due to humanitarian scruples but to security risks and lack of labour force. As soon as the war turned into trench warfare gas begun to be strategically used as a weapon, and Bayer begun to supply the army with tens of thousands of tons of various types of gas.

Not content with their turnover, ‘Friedr. Bayer & Co’ also formed alliances with other chemical companies in a ‘community of interest’ following the example of the American Trusts of the time.

The economic crisis that followed the war didn’t last long, and in 1925 nine chemical companies led by ‘BASF’ formed ‘JG Farben’.

At the beginning (1926), ‘JG Farben’ didn’t embrace the aspirations of the national-socialist party, but then they realized that their production of synthetic petrol couldn’t function without funding. Back in 1932, a year before the electoral victory of NSDAP (German National-Socialist Workers’ Party), the company made contact with Hitler and obtained his support. In order to guarantee stability in their profits, ‘JG Farben’ thought it useful to contribute to the electoral expenses of the NSDAP with about 400,000 Reichsmark (German marks). Since then their cooperation with the Nazi regime flourished almost without frictions.

Almost the entire board of directors of the company became members of the NSDAP, while monopolization made ‘JG Farben’ the fourth most important company in the world.

During the Spanish Civil war, the company provided financial support to Franco’s troops, while in Guernica the Luftwaffe had the chance to test an incendiary bomb produced by ‘JG Farben’ on civilians. During the second world war ‘JG Farben’ was committed to the production of war weaponry and was one of the responsible for the murder and exploitation of prisoners in concentration camps.

As soon as ‘JG Farben’ discovered a suitable site for production near Auschwitz, they started to seek for a hard labour force. In February 1941 Carl Krauch, an important member of ‘BASF’/‘JG Farben’, wrote a letter to Hermann Goring asking him to convince Himmler to use prisoners in concentration camps as slave-workers in the plant of Buna. From the collaboration with ‘JG Farben’ Himmler expected the supply of materials necessary to expand the concentration camp in Auschwitz. In this regard he ordered Karl Wolff to forge a strict alliance with ‘JG Farben’. (more…)

Seventh communique from Individualists Tending toward the Wild (ITS) – Mexico

Tuesday, February 19th, 2013

received and translated by waronsociety:

“When the blood of your veins returns to the sea
and the dust of your bones returns to the ground,
maybe then you will remember that this Earth does not belong to you,
you belong to this Earth.”
– Native American saying

Before beginning this new text signed by ITS, we want to express our enormous gratitude to the anarchist portal “Liberación Total,” since over the years they have disseminated our communiques despite the many uncomfortable circumstances that have presented themselves; in a note attached to a November 27, 2011 text by the “Animal and Earth Liberation Front of Mexico” titled “Conspiracy Theories and the Ridiculous Saboteurs“  [Spanish link*] which we quote, they said, “we will keep disseminating the information which has to do with the ITS,” and that is what they have done.

Likewise we thank all the persons and groups (from Mexico as well as Canada, the United States, Chile, Spain, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Italy, Russia, Germany, etc) who have at their own times recognized our work and/or have spread our words in one way or another. These displays of acceptance will always be taken into account as ITS did in our fourth communique (September 21, 2011) in note E; but it is worth mentioning that the displays of rejection do not go unnoticed either, when they have solid foundations that merit the effort of a response.

The aim of this text is to make our stance clear, continuing the work of spreading our ideas, clearing up some apparent doubts and misinterpretations, as well as accepting mistakes and/or errors. In no way do we want to start an endless discussion that only takes up time and energy, nor do we want this text to turn into something other than what it is. Anyone who reads it will be able to interpret correctly (or incorrectly) what they are aiming to read; the intelligent reader will know to reflect and consequently do what seems right to them.

Communiqué of Luca ‘Billy’ Bernasconi about his anti-WEF hungerstrike (Switzerland)

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Prison separates us physically from the struggles. It isolates us from our loved ones and from the daily complicity of our paths of struggle, denying us our own desires. However it doesn’t manage to take them away from our head, nor the fight from our spirit. On the contrary, the rage and hate we feel against these walls and our jailers roots them further on into our soul, into our flesh. (more…)

Communique of Silvia about her anti-WEF hunger strike from 20th to 29th of January 2012 (Switzerland)

Tuesday, February 14th, 2012

Nanotechnologies are going to be one of the discussion points of the World Economic Forum. This is exemplary of how, along with biotechnologies, they are something more than a simple technological development. They represent a strategical and fundamental choice for the survival of this tecno-industrial system, they are the bricks with which the system will rebuild itself in every sector.

CARI-PGG send Explosive Packet to Monsanto multinational corporation (Mexico)

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

Quick translation of the suppressed news from Mexico of an explosive attack against one of the most notorious and vilified multinational corporations : Monsanto. The CARI-PGG take responsibility for attacking this biotech agribusiness giant.

Comunicado de las CELULAS AUTONOMAS DE REVOLUCION INMEDIATA / PRAXEDIS G. GUERRERO (CARI-PGG)

Claim of sending a parcel bomb to Monsanto – CARI-PGG

Comunicado: Release:

During the week of 22 to 27 February we sent a parcel bomb to the head of Monsanto Mexico, which was made in the same way as the explosive packets which were sent to the two prison directors. We know that news of this package was merely hidden like last two and also the last one which was sent to the Embassy of Chile [for the 14 August Hungerstrikers].

But many people will wonder why Monsanto?.

Monsanto is one of the world’s most powerful companies that own most patents of genetically modified corn among other patents. Monsanto for its history of existence, dating from 1901, is dedicated to destroying the planet through different ways: pollution of rivers, oceans and ecosystems through the discharge of fertilizers and agrichemicals, destruction of native cultures and their customs, privatization of Nature, poisoning the land, making it infertile, producing transgenic corn and preventing people from planting native corn anymore or Creole. Monsanto contributed to pollution, death and illness of millions of Vietnamese during the war between Vietnam and the United States. At that time 80 million liters of herbicides (chemicals) were sprayed on Vietnam, in an area of approximately 1.5 million hectares, to clear forests and facilitate the bombing of the population. Among the products to be sprayed was Agent Orange, a powerful defoliant.

These chemicals destroy forests, rice fields, entire crops, poisoned the waters and caused serious environmental damage, plus poison people and cause diseases like cancer and birth defects.

Monsanto has hired the world’s largest mercenary company “Blackwater” to spy on activists dissatisfied with their destructive activity, saying that Blackwater and Total Intelligence could infiltrate the environmental movement if it was necessary, Monsanto paid $ 127,000 Total Intelligence in 2008 and $ 105,000 in 2009.

For these and many other reasons, we have to attack this biotech company and those who remain standing.

Against these companies that threaten nature all our actions have to be as radical and powerful as the damage they perpetrate against the planet. We know that in time (or at least that’s what is wanted), the director of Monsanto Mexico and all the individuals who support this company will not sleep easy, expecting at any given night a powerful explosion will destroy their house. Ask the agents of Monsanto who has infected livestock when they discharge their toxins in the water, just ask Monsanto who has has forced thousands of peasants to sell and consume genetically modified product and those who simply refuse stripping them through repression about terrorism, ask them about their complicit governments and their paramilitaries.

We see no moral reason why we should care about these entrepreneurs and their bourgeois families, rich and powerful, who feel they own the world and feel the right to modify and manipulate life on this planet at will, justified only by having money, having ‘manners’, having cars; – to have food every day, just to throw most of it away. They have enriched themselves at our expense and cost of our families, our loved ones and our comrades in struggle, that unfortunately come into this commercialized world of work by not having many other options or alternatives.

These companies and their families, their wealth from the exploitation of nature and animals, destroy ecosystems, poisoning rivers and oceans.
