A boat that burst into flames in Mindarie Marina on Tuesday morning has caught fire for a second time while dry-docked in Hillarys.

The fire re-ignited this morning, just after 6am. It is believed the 15-metre boat may have still been smouldering when it was docked, and consequently caused an estimated further $20,000 in damage.

The $250,000 boat first caught fire on Tuesday morning, and emergency crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to other docked boats. '

Owner Garry Stuart said he had been planning to take his wife to Rottnest Island for their 44th wedding anniversary next weekend on the boat.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
