A tropical low in an active monsoon trough is bringing intense, rain, storms and wind to northern WA. A trough in western WA is maintaining heat in the region. A trough in the east is triggering a few storms in central Australia and southern QLD. A high is keeping the south dry.

Synoptic chart for Saturday

A tropical cyclone will take intense rain, storms and wind east across northern WA. A trough will draw intense heat and storms to western and inland parts of WA. A trough in the east will generate very warm winds, a few showers and storms in NSW and QLD as a front cools TAS.

A tropical cyclone will take intense rain, storms and wind off the northwest WA coast. A trough will draw heat, rain and storms across southern WA while a front cools the southwest. A trough in the east will generate very warm winds, a few showers and storms in SA, VIC, NSW, QLD.

Low pressure troughs will maintain heat, showers and thunderstorms across the tropics. Hot, gusty northerly winds will affect SA, TAS, VIC, NSW and central Australia. A front will cool southern WA with showers and later cool SA, TAS and VIC. A high will keep much of VIC, NSW dry.

A trough will keep central Australia very hot and draw hot, winds across NSW and western QLD. Fronts will help send cooler winds and the odd shower across southern and western NSW, VIC, TAS and SA. A trough in the west and north will cause showers and storms across WA and tropics

Low pressure troughs will maintain heat, high humidity, showers and storms over much of northern and central Australia and into WA, SA and NSW. A high should keep much of VIC, southern SA and southern WA dry. Westerly winds between fronts should affect TAS with showers.
