Gangneung is a city in Gangwon-do, on the east coast of South Korea. It has a population of 229,869 (as of 2006). Gangneung is the economic centre of the Yeongdong region of Gangwon Province. Gangneung has many tourist attractions, such as Jeongdongjin, a very popular area for watching the sun rise, and Gyeongpo Beach. There is a ROK airbase south of downtown Gangneung which formerly doubled as a civil airport.
The city is also home to National League soccer club Gangneung City FC and K-League soccer team Gangwon FC.
On 18 September 1996 a North Korean submarine ran aground near Gangneung in an attempted infiltration mission, spurring a 49-day manhunt for the escaped passengers. For more details, refer to the 1996 Gangneung submarine infiltration incident.
The flag of the city shows a red sun in the centre and blue wave in front, on a white background. The sun represents the sunrise, the wave the sea. The flower of the city is the crepe myrtle, the tree of the city is the pine tree, its bird the swan. The animal of Gangneung is the tiger.
On your next trip to South Korea, make it a point to tour the Gangneung Coastline. As you travel along the winding seaside highway, you’ll find plenty of places to stop and gaze over stunning ocean views and breathe in the sea air from atop rocky outcroppings. Numerous sculptures have been placed along the shoreline, and these artistic objects have become popular locations for photo ops. During your Gangneung Coastline sightseeing, make sure to stop by Tongil Park, which is home to a decommissioned destroyer and a captured submarine from North Korea. Wander through these vessels to get an idea of military life on the high seas. What did you like best about the Gangneung Coastline? Not quite ready to part with the summer sun yet? So are we! This time we visited Gangneung, a coastal city on the east of South Korea. We caught the overnight train from Seoul and got there just in time to watch the sunrise from Jeongdongjin Beach. We walked around through some temples, ate some nice Chodang Sundubu (white tofu soup), chill by the park, and of course - enjoy the sun, sea, and salt at the beautiful Gyeongpo Beach. Keine Ahnung was ich Dir sagen soll
Keine Ahnung und keinen Plan
Frag mich nicht nach jedem Unterschied
Ob es Gut und ob es Böse gibt
Was Erfolg und was Versagen ist
Wer die Regeln für das Spiel bestimmt
Keine Ahnung was ich Dir sagen soll
Keine Ahnung und keinen Plan
Ich kann selber nur noch Nebel sehen
Kann mein eigenes Wort nicht mehr verstehen
Verliere jeden Tag den Überblick
Weiß nicht auf welcher Seite ich steh
Keine Ahnung was ich Dir sagen soll
