Man threatened by gun-toting crim in late-night Ringwood attack
A MAN was followed and threatened with a gun during an attempted armed robbery in Ringwood.
It is believed the 27-year-old man was walking on Station St at 1.20am on January 7, when he was approached by a dark-coloured Holden Commodore ute.
As the man crossed James St the offender got out of their vehicle and threatened the man with a long arm firearm.
The man fled the scene and notified police at the nearby railway station.
An immediate search of the area was conducted but failed to locate the offenders.
Detectives believe that the car was last seen turning left from Station St into Wantirna Rd.
Maroondah crime investigation unit detectives have released an image of the ute believed to be in the area at the time and a computer generated image of a man that may be able to assist police with their inquiries.
