Patrick Dangerfield announces he and wife Mardi are expecting on social media

Patrick Dangerfield is very good at football, but he may be even better at social media.

The Geelong superstar and 2016 Brownlow medallist took his online game to a whole new level on Monday, when he announced on Instagram and Twitter that he and wife Mardi are expecting their first child. That was noteworthy in isolation, but what made it better was how he did it. Dangerfield posted a video with an ultrasound image of the baby, complete with a voiceover from long-serving AFL and Australian Open MC Craig Willis.

"Patrick and Mardi are proud to announce a new Dangerfield for 2017," Willis said.

"I'm feeling Craig, is the perfect name.

"This ultrasound has been brought to you by the obstetrician, in association with the bedroom."
