Last year six-year-old Hayley was photographed with a solitary eyelash as she battled cancer.

The moving photo, taken by her father, Andrew Brown, broke hearts around the world - and showed the gruelling effects of chemotherapy and radiation.

A little over six months since the family discovered that Hayley had a cancerous tumour growing in her nasal cavity - there's finally cause for celebration.

Hayley's eyelashes are back.

Melbourne father-of-four, Mr Brown, shared the happy news in a post to his blog.

"Monday 9th January 2017; THEY'RE BAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!" he wrote. "YAY! Sob, yay, you beauty, sob, sook, sob, hooray!"

In another recent blog post, Mr Brown shared that Hayley will now enter twelve months of maintenance and that her cancer is stable. Before Christmas, scans revealed that the tumour in her nasal cavity had significantly reduced.

"We are in a very much improved situation but not out of the shit yet," he wrote. "We are BEATING this, but not in the past tense yet. The term the doctors are using is that the cancer is stable. I kind of wish that was a little clearer."

Mr Brown explained that Hayley will now undergo two different types of chemotherapy - "weaker cousins" of the chemo she already received.

"They are also in smaller doses," he wrote. "One is in the form of a liquid that we give to her at home on a daily basis. The other is administered at the hospital in outpatients and shouldn't take any more than a couple of hours each time."

The side effects, he explained, should be more gentle, allowing Hayley to attend school regularly.

"But all that in mind, I still believe we have this beaten. I believe the cancer is completely, or at least almost completely, gone. The maintenance is just the final tidy up."

Wishing you all the best with your treatment and recovery, Hayley.
