Man charged over hammer attack in Broome - victim fighting for life

A man is fighting for life in Broome hospital after he was attacked with hammer last (Friday) night.

Police say the 44-year-old was speaking to a woman outside a house in Cox Place around 8.15pm when a 39-year-old man ran out of the house, armed with a hammer, and attacked the other man.

The victim was left with life-threatening head injuries and rushed to Broome Hospital.

Police arrested the alleged attacked later in the evening and charged him with causing Aggravated Grevious Bodily Harm.
