Greg McHugh (born 5 January 1980) is a Scottish actor and writer. He is the creator, writer and star of the BBC1 comedy series Gary: Tank Commander. He also plays Howard in the highly successful Channel 4 comedy Fresh Meat.
Greg McHugh was born in Morningside, Edinburgh, Scotland on 5 January 1980. His father was a civil servant, and his mother a teacher. McHugh has two elder brothers.
McHugh went to St Thomas of Aquin's High School or St Tams as it's known locally, he then studied business at the University of Stirling and trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. Initially, McHugh had intended to study sports science but found it too difficult.
McHugh's accent is a softer variation of the Edinburgh accent.
McHugh can be seen briefly on screen in the Still Game episode "Faimly" as a friend or relative visiting the patient in the bed beside Winston Ingram.
McHugh played Josh Elvey in the TV movie Not Safe for Work.
In 2010, McHugh appeared in the episode "Don the Musical" of the English sitcom How Not to Live Your Life. He played Randy, a local actor of amateur dramatics who played the Tom Cruise character, Charlie Babbitt, in a musical version of Rain Man. He was in two 2010 episodes of Rab C. Nesbitt as Liam O'Hagan. The episodes were "Muse" and "Candy."
Kimberley Nixon (born 24 September 1985) is a Welsh actress. Nixon is known for her role as Sophy Hutton in the BBC One period drama Cranford and various films such as Wild Child and for starring as Josie Jones in the Channel 4 comedy-drama Fresh Meat and as Sarah Pearson in the BBC Two comedy Hebburn.
Born in Bristol to Welsh parents, Nixon and her six brothers were raised in Pontypridd, Wales, where she attended Coedylan Comprehensive School, now known as Pontypridd High School.
After high school, Nixon trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff alongside Tom Cullen and Aneurin Barnard. Before her graduation in 2007, she signed to Universal Studios after appearing in a college production of The Comedy of Errors. She is a former member of the National Youth Theatre of Wales.
Nixon's career began in autumn 2007, when she starred as the motherless Sophy Hutton in the BBC One costume drama series Cranford, opposite Dame Judi Dench. In 2008, she had supporting roles in the films Wild Child and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.
Charlotte Ritchie (born 29 August 1989) is an English actress and singer-songwriter. She is a member of the classical crossover band All Angels. She has been a main cast member in Channel 4's Fresh Meat and BBC's Siblings. From January 2015 she joined the cast of BBC's Call the Midwife playing Barbara Gilbert.
Charlotte Ritchie was educated at James Allen's Girls' School in Dulwich, South London and she joined Youth Music Theatre UK and its production of Red Hunter in 2005. She finished a degree in English and Drama at the University of Bristol whilst filming Fresh Meat.
In 2004, Ritchie played a lead in a short film entitled The Open Doors with Michael Sheen. She appeared as an uncredited extra in the 2005 film, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. She also featured in The Pierglass at the Young Pleasance Theatre in August 2006 at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Ritchie was a presenter on Boomerang and performed with All Angels in an episode of Emmerdale. She also played Emily Owen, a neighbour in the BBC's Life of Riley.
Fresh Meat is a British comedy-drama created by Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain, who also created Peep Show.
The first episode, directed by David Kerr, was broadcast on Channel 4 on 21 September 2011, and the show aired on Wednesdays at 10 pm. Fresh Meat marked the acting début of comedian Jack Whitehall and also stars Kimberley Nixon of Cranford and Joe Thomas of The Inbetweeners. The second series started airing on 9 October 2012 and consisted of 8 episodes. On 22 November 2012, a third series was commissioned and began broadcasting on 4 November 2013. Sam Bain, a co-creator of Fresh Meat, has revealed that ideas are being developed for a potential movie adaptation. In November 2014, it was confirmed that series four was in the works, and was to be filmed in 2015. Series 4 is scheduled to premiere on 22 February 2016, consisting of 6 episodes. It will be the final series.
The plot revolves around the lives of six students — Vod, Oregon, Josie, Kingsley, JP and Howard — who are freshers (with the exception of Howard) at fictional Manchester Medlock University, Manchester. They live in a shared house off-campus in Rusholme rather than university halls of residence, due to their late application.
Zawedde "Zawe" Ashton (/ˈzæwiː/; born 21 July 1984) is an English actress, playwright and director best known for her roles in Channel 4 comedy dramas Not Safe for Work (as Katherine) and as Vod in Fresh Meat. Her credits include the feature films Blitz and St Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold
Ashton was born in Hackney, London, the eldest of three children born to an Ugandan mother, Victoria, and an English father, Paul Ashton, both teachers (her father later worked for Channel 4 in educational programming). Her maternal grandfather was Ugandan President and Prime Minister Paulo Muwanga. She attended the Anna Scher Theatre School and was a member of the National Youth Theatre. She studied at the City and Islington College, then at the Manchester Metropolitan University School of Theatre, where she gained a degree in acting.
Ashton attended the Anna Scher Theatre after school junior classes and later became a member of the Anna Scher YPs (Young Professionals). She started improvised acting at the age of six due to her confidence, social skills and creativity.

You're a slave to my long eyelashes
You're not crank but you're an agony
Loving me is [?]
Poor thing, I know you're hungry
'Cause I'm fresh meat and vintage Dior
Stealing from the rich and giving Guicci to the poor
I've got advice for you
I've got everything you need
You know if you wanna be thin
You shouldn't eat anything but fresh meat

I'm a walking weapon and a shot gun shag and
I'm a butcher's masterpiece
Dance bitch, trip the lights - fantastic
Split my skin, make me bleed
