Lace

Lace is a delicate fabric made of yarn or thread in an open weblike pattern, made by machine or by hand.

Originally linen, silk, gold, or silver threads were used. Now lace is often made with cotton thread, although linen and silk threads are still available. Manufactured lace may be made of synthetic fiber. A few modern artists make lace with a fine copper or silver wire instead of thread. A totally different scale are the architectural lace fences by Dutch designers.

Etymology

The word lace is from Middle English, from Old French las, noose, string, from Vulgar Latin *laceum, from Latin laqueus, noose; probably akin to lacere, to entice or ensnare.

Lace (1926 film)

Lace (German:Spitzen) is a 1926 German silent crime film directed by Holger-Madsen and starring Olaf Fønss, Elisabeth Pinajeff and Evelyn Holt.

The film's sets were designed by the art director Alfred Junge.

Natasha Desborough

Natasha Desborough (born June 21, 1974, Wimbledon, London) is a radio presenter, author, DJ, and radio and television producer. Her debut book, Parental Advisory Manual, was published in October 2009.

She attended Reigate College, Reigate, Surrey, UK from 1990 to 1993.

Biography

She started her music career as Programme Controller for Crystal Palace F.C.'s own radio station, Palace Radio 1278AM, where she was responsible for producing, scripting and coordinating the station's programming. From there she moved to Invicta FM, in Kent.

She then moved to the alternative music station in 2003, Xfm London where she fronted the late night Chill Out Room before moving onto then the Breakfast Session alongside celebrity guests such as Iain Lee from RI:SE. During her time there, she also co-presented the Sunday morning show, writing and co-presenting with Perrier Award nominated comedian Jimmy Carr.

Natasha is also a radio producer, having produced all her own shows on XFM.

Natasha left BBC 6 Music on Sunday September 28, 2008 and was replaced on weekend breakfast by Iyare Igiehon.

Natasha (EP)

Natasha is an EP by Pig Destroyer, released in 2008 by Relapse Records. The EP consists of one song, named "Natasha", originally included on special editions of Terrifyer as a DVD. The song consists of multiple songs and audio samples. Unlike Pig Destroyer's traditional grindcore sound, this showcases a doom, drone and dark ambient side of Pig Destroyer.

Natasha (monkey)

Natasha is a macaque at the Safari Park zoo near Tel Aviv, Israel. She has become well known because, unlike other macaques who move by alternating between walking upright and on all four limbs, Natasha has walked upright all the time since suffering from a stomach flu that almost killed her.

She recovered after receiving intensive-care treatment, and while her other behaviour remained normal, she began walking erect solely on her hind legs, which gained her immediate media attention; the Maariv daily newspaper showed a picture of her striding through the grass, with the tongue-in-cheek caption "The Missing Link?".

The zoo's veterinarian, Yigal Horowitz, remarked: "I've never seen or heard of this before... One possible explanation is brain damage from the illness."
