A 23-year-old man has been charged over an incident where he allegedly filmed a girl trying on clothes at a south Auckland store.

The man will be charged with making an objectionable publication over the incident, where it is alleged he filmed the 14-year-old girl at a retail store in Papakura.

He was also caught on CCTV following the teenager and her mother around the shop on November 28. A staff member confronted the man, who left the store immediately.
